I purchased this in July and loved it! It was super efficient and kept the leash tidy outside. However, fast forward 6 months later - the leash stopped retracting! I tried going thru Amazon to get replacement but of course they were useless and referred me to the manufacturer since it was past the 30 day refund window. To be clear, I wasn’t asking for a refund but rather a replacement. I tried calling and reaching out to the manufacturer and no response. They don’t answer the phone and prompt you to leave a message. I left a message over a week ago and still haven’t heard back.

Terrible quality. I bought the medium size (30-80lbs) for my 30 lbs dog. Hooked him up and it came apart on the first usage. The metal is super thin and bends easily. I do not recommend this product!

Item idea is great. Used it under a week and it’s completely stopped the issues we were having with our old tie out. We’ve used it under a week though and the corrosion is extensive. It’s not from scrapes or being dropped either and we have a lurtcher so the item isn’t near the ground. Unfortunately disappointed at the quality of the clip and some parts of the black outer casing has started to “blister”

Our big boys (100lb ea) love having the freedom to check out the surroundings. They’re only on a lead when we travel and always supervised but I can attest to the durability as they have attempted to do some squirrel chasing! I love that I can put them, I have two tie outs, just far enough apart that the boys can lay close to each other but not get tangled up.

The Lixit Bracket Mount and Stake Retractable Leash Tie Out (Medium) is a real handy tool for us dog owners down here. It gives our pups room to roam while keepin' 'em safe and sound within their boundaries. The retractable feature is a nice touch, makin' it easy to adjust as needed. Installing it was a breeze, and it's built sturdy enough to handle our playful dogs without a hitch. Overall, it's a reliable choice for keepin' our furry friends safe during outdoor adventures. Highly recommended, y'all!

I wanted my dog to be able to hang out in the front yard with us and run around. This was the perfect solution! It’s sturdy and the spike is deep enough that it doesn’t pull out at all or even lean. It rotates around so he can move easily and the flexible length is great.

A lot of places want on leash dogs and this is a great middle ground. Lets them ‘wander’ a little and be near us and safely on leash.

Very well made. Very sturdy. Easy to install. Safe. It wasn’t for me though as I didn’t like the jerk it gave my dog when it reached the end of its run. I would advise you use a harness.

I've been using mine several times daily for about a month now, and have been very pleased with it's performance. I removed the bracket from mine (easy to do) and attached it to a swivel on a dog run. Now my Beagle can easily wander off into the bushes to do his business without getting tangled up like he did when using the slack-line I had on there previously.One thing I did not like initially is that my kids would let it retract on it's own after unclipping the beagle. I was trying to come up with a way to install some type of stop on the cable, so that about 7 feet would stay outside the reel. Then I realized there is a small rubber grommet on the cable that can be slid up and down to stop the cable from retracting at any point along it's length.As mentioned in the description, this works best with a harness rather than a collar, as the tension is quite high (I probably should have purchased the small dog version).

I am super happy with this product. I want to make sure to mention I used this product once on a camping trip to Joshua Tree. I didn't to worry about my dog since that Park is not very dog friendly and dogs must be on leash at all times. I followed the recommendations to attach the retractable cable to his usual walking leash and worked very well. He could just relax without the constant pull. My dog is a 4 month old - 40 pounds husky and wasn't bothered by the pull and had no difficulties walking around it. We also used it with his no-pull walking harnest that clips of the front - cause you know, huskies love to pull. He didn't try much to escape it though, even when he heard coyotes on a distance. I was impressed by how it took the desert ground. Our tent pegs bent but this did a great job going through the rocky ground and all the banging it took. My girlfriend attached Velcro to the rubber protector and to it so we wouldn't lose it cause otherwise you will break it trying to hammer it on to the ground. Since my intent is using it during camping I want to find a solution to prevent us from tripping on it. We put a glow stick on his collar so we could see him and one at the pole. We knew to watch for both but people that was not aware of the cable would definitely trip on the stretched cable. But I am very happy with it. I hope it holds like this for several uses
