The FLASLD 18 inches x 18 inches Welding and Soldering Heat Shield Plumbers Pad is a non-flammable silicone fiber fabric that provides effective protection against sparks, flames, and intense heat. Made from silicone coated fiberglass cloth that can be used for any light to heavy duty welding applications. Use the product one time burned a hole straight through it. I don’t see it lasting very long in my field of work. I do Hvac had to put this up as to not burn up anything behind the unit as soon as the torch hit it the thing caught on fire burned a whole straight through it It did get me through the job, but I will not keep investing money in a product that only lasts for one job

Just bought a house and the oven and fridge are right next to each other. This was such a perfect solution to avoid damage to the fridge. Didn't know I would ever purchase a magnetic welding shield but here we are.

I ordered to hang on fridge which is right next to my stove. Keeps the heat from marring the fridge.

I purchased this for a small job of adapting a radiator supply pipe. It involved using a small blowtorch to heat an elbow and rotating it to a different angle.Unfortunately, despite the mat behind the pipe, the wooden panelling was still scorched. It obviously protected the surrounding area a little but not adequately.

Put it on top of a gas stove flame for 5 minutes and it did not burn, very good product

This is a nice product for sparks but I bought it as a shield for our refrigerator which is right next to our gas stove. Unfortunately, it doesn’t work in this application as the refrigerator surface got as hot as without the shield. It is too bad as the shield is nicely made and with the magnets was perfect for easily hanging on the refrigerator. Very disappointed this application didn’t work but the shield didn’t provide heat resistance or insulation. I’m sure it would stop sparks but not the heat from a stove burner. It could easily be a five star in the right application.
