I like the price and quality. But it was small for our fireplace. I returned it.

This great is perfect for the small fires I make in my fireplace. I like the way the logs are positioned for burning.

Good, Solid Grate, But Double Check The Measurements To Make Sure The Size is Right For You.The 17” inch grate measures 17” across at the bottom of the legs, not the top of the grate where the logs go. The area of top of the grate, where the wood is placed, is 11” x 11”, so it is actually smaller than 14” grates from other brands. One of the pictures in the item listing gives detailed measurements. The tongues are very small and I will not use them to place and reposition logs, but they are a great addition to my fireplace tool rack for picking up and moving individual coals.Good, solid grate

I can't wait to use this with a built-in fireplace outside this summer! It's made well, and I don't think that it will rust too quickly. The tongs do leave something to be desired, however. They don't really grip logs well, but maybe can be used for smaller things or to poke the fire occasionally.

I used it three times in my fireplace. After third time the center of grate bent making it difficult to stick paper under it to get a fire started. My old grate lasted for over 3 years with no problem.

The quality is fantastic, a heavy sturdy iron grate just as you would expect, and this is a great value. In the past, I have replaced my fireplace grate from the local big box store, I thought I’d give this a try so here’s some pics that should help you make sure it fits your fireplace. I had one challenge with the clearance underneath the grate. In the listing, these come in two sizes. 17 and 24 inches. Plan to measure your fireplace to save yourself some trouble. While the width is important, so is the clearance underneath the grate, particularly if you have a gas starter underneath, you’ll want to confirm that measurement as well. I bought the 24 inch. This grate isn’t tapered from front to back like you might expect, but it still fit fine in my fireplace (see pic). In the listing picture showing the dimensions, you can see the rear measurement, which shows 17 inches is from grill to grill. It's not a measurement from rear leg rear leg, because it's the same front and back. The back of my fireplace is 21 inches, and the width is fine (see pic).I ran into a small problem with the clearance underneath because of the gas igniter in my fireplace, the grate doesn’t sit flush on the ground (see pic); However, I’m going to pull the legs in a bit and that should make the grate sit higher, that should solve it.I would recommend this grate, and the hot coal tongs. It’s well built and has a lot of practical applications.

That’s right. This is a great fire grate. The one we had that came with the house worked fine but this is a bit larger. It looks good. Solid. Well made. We are happy with it since it fits our firebox perfect.
