I ordered these to put around my small dog's collar because she is always finding new places to hide in the house and she's so quiet you don't hear her walking. I've closed her in my room one too many times not knowing she was in there. She likes to go visiting the neighborhood too and sneaks out a lot when people are coming in or out and I am afraid she will get hit by a car. These do the trick.... they are lightweight and don't seem to bother her at all. I like the Velcro because I don't have to take her collar on and off to remove them when we are in for the night or when she isplaying so I don't have to hear them. The Velcro sticks to itself well and I haven't had a problem with it falling off and since they come in a 4 pack, I have a backup plus a couple for the kids because they enjoy hiking up in the Adirondacks. I feel these are a good value.

I live in Montana, and sometimes we take our kids on hikes. I put bear bells on their packs. It helps us hear if someone has wandered a bit away, and it may help us not walk up on an unexpecting bear. Bears don't like surprises. For the money, these are highly worth it. I still carry a firearm and bear spray, but I'd rather not be in a situation where I need either.

This is a great set of Bear Bells, including four bells and two bonus whistles. These are light weight and since there are four, enough for the family or to have replacements. The bells are similar in sound to "sleigh bells" and adequate for alerting animals as you trek through their territory. I highly recommend!

These bells are really loud and should work great to alert bears so that they aren't startled into an attack. They attach onto your belt, backpack, or even dog leashes to make enough sound. The whistles are also a good deterrent. We have black bears and they are generally noncombative, as long as they aren't startled or don't have cubs. This will help in case I come across them in the woods or walking down the road again.

All the bells and whistles are quiet loud. We divided them into carry pouches, consisting of 2 bells and 1 whistle. You never know, while camping when an actual bear or other large animal might show up. These, not only scare most animals, the sounds also alert others you need help. Slip and hurt yourself, ring or whistle for help. We are teaching the children to grab a pouch when they venture to the little house in the woods, especially at night, just in case.

We're going hiking in a national park next Spring and my partner is terrified of bears. I seriously doubt we will encounter one but I got him this kit, in addition to some bear spray, to set his mind at ease. The bells are very sturdy and the whistles are loud. You should ALWAYS carry a whistle when traveling, with or without bears - if you get injured it is much easier for rescuers to find you from a loud whistle than from your pathetic attempts at shouting when you're already hurt. And these whistles are good. These are also quite attractive and would be useful for crafts projects. I looked at lots of bear bells before buying these and most are ugly and cheap - these are heavy and attractive.

This package arrived with all the bells and whistles I expected… really. The bells are solid quality. They are not thin, but are quite thick in gauge and have a deeper tone. They are more like sleigh bells. The connected straps are secured with velcro and will fit on belt loops, pack straps, or my dogs collar. He hates it, but I’m sure he’ll get over it as it will help to keep him safe too.The whistles aren’t bad either. I am a firm believer that every hiker should have a whistle and these work great with very little effort.

My husband likes to cycle on wilderness trails, and these bells are plenty loud enough to warn wildlife that he's coming. Velcro closure lets him add these where he wants on his bike & packs. The whistles are loud too. Very pleased with these.
