I wanted a few black chalk pieces but couldn't find a small amount to purchase. So I ordered these navy blue ones instead to use on muslin fabric when copying garments, but it's very pale blue. Very pale. It barely marks the muslin fabric at all without pressing really hard, and then it breaks. Not navy or dark, more like a powder blue but still wax. It doesn't work for my purposes unfortunately and I regret purchasing.

great value pack, doesn't make my hands sticky. i'm a fan of the big color selection and it washes off easily! this, along with clover markers, are a must in any sewer's arsenal.also lasts a *long* time. make sure to get a sharpening tool/chalk holder too! it will make the whole sewing process a lot easier, especially if you have grip issues

This product works. It is more of a wax than a chalk, which makes it easy to handle and allows exact lines to mark patterns on a delicate parachute-like fabric. I was part of a team making surgical gowns for potential Covid-19 patients for a Skilled Nursing area of a Senior Living community. We made 70 gowns. I had saved this same marker from a sewing class 62 years ago. Using the old, then ordering new markers did not disappoint. Thanks goodness for Amazon -- I have always been able to find exactly what I want, even this product which I haven't used in 62 years!

This product works well on 100 % cotton, but it's not typical old-fashion fabric chalk as my mother used 25 years ago. It's more oily and much harder to remove (I could not remove it completely without washing the fabric) It is not as visible as I would like to (mostly when using multicolored fabric). I'd give 3.5 *

The packaging for shipping could have been a lot better than bubble wrap and a bag. But only a few pieces broke so the description is accurate that the chalk is stronger than other tailor chalk, which I have purchased and they break easily. I would recommend this chalk; however, Shipper could do better with packaging.
