I design apparel professionally and this pack of white pattern pencils are total crap! You'll be sharpening non stop and they peel and break constantly. I wound up throwing all of them away. I'll never purchase them again.

Iny experience tailors chalk is pretty much the same across the board. I prefer it in pencil form, and these are a great value for how many you get. None of them arrived broken, and from a quick test they seem to work just as well as others I've used.Edited to add: be careful when pressing. The marks made with these pencils turned into dark almost oily looking lines when exposed to heat that aren't coming out.

I had some clothing art projects sitting around unfinished because I ran out of chalk pencils. It can be difficult to find good ones that draw clean lines, don't create a bunch of dust, sharpen well, and wash out well. These pencils meet my requirements, and it's a 30 count pack, so I won't run out for a long time!

I was delighted to find this set of white fabric pencils. I work with darker fabrics a lot and was just using white chalk. These soft pencils work great and are easier to use than chalk since they have a finer point. They are easy to sharpen, and the white part doesn't break off in the sharpener. Since there are 20 of them, it's like I have a lifetime supply!

These white pencils are an excellent alternative to tailor's chalk. They're more precise, easier to see the marks, and WAY easier to find in the bottom of your sewing drawer! Good find.

I’m a novice sewist so I thought getting chalk pencils would be easiest for me to make straight lines, and while I was right about that, I was wrong about these. These DO NOT come off easily. It doesn’t wash off with water or soap or wet wipes or washing it. The only thing that remotely gets the pencil marks off is vinegar. So your whole piece is going to smell like vinegar. They are basically just colored pencils and not chalk. Also they were all dull when they came in so make sure you have a pencil sharpener
