Sound quality and response is super amazing. I was having trouble finding the right snare wires for my snare drum. And it turns out that pure sound is my all-time favorite. I’ll buy this more.

Holy cow! I never thought new snares could make my drum sound SO much better! Boy was I wrong! Everything just came alive by adding these. My snare really pops now.

Franchement, c'est un timbre de caisse claire. Pour faire la différence entre celui là ou un autre (moins cher) faut déjà avoir beaucoup (beaucoup) d'oreille...

Made the snare drum from Ludwig sound very good. The original was 30 years old and this product fit the bill!

Estan realment bons.

I just received my order today but waiting on the new heads by Monday. I was impressed with the build quality for the price compared to wires included in kit. I plan to install these 13" 16 wire on a 4"x13" chromed steel DW snare. I will update as to the performance. I restored this snare so I have no before to compare or remember but I will compare to a new kit model tonight and update as I go.In general, these appear to be steel which lends to a more darker or crisp sound and fewer strands in tend to allow the drum to have more of its shell sound or tone whereas more wires can give more accented snare resonance. I'm curious to compare a Custom 30 or 24 wire on same snare later to compare. These models do not include the quick release straps of the Pro version. I don't see them available as extra but they do offer the basic nylon strap pieces without the markings to align center

Aside from the fact that the Custom Pro clearly has an edge on the Custom because of the convenience it affords based on the snare straps included, this package is great. I would suggest simply getting the Custom Pro, but if you have an older snare which relies on string to attach itself, then this is certainly an excellent product. Simply put, it makes your snare drum sound better, on no matter what drum you put it on. Excessive snare buzz isn't eliminated, but it certainly is less then previous snare wires.

Before you read this know I am talking about a set of 14" Puresounds not 13's as stated. Puresound............Puresound..........Puresound...........that's all I read on internet drum forums and drum magazines about what to get to really change the way your snare sounds and responds. I had bought an old 1959 Chicago Slingerland six lug student model snare to re-wrap to match a jazz kit I was piecing together with orphan Slingerland shells. Drum was already re-wrapped when I go it in some old "countertop" wrap; yeah it was thick just like countertop, no kidding.... I had to pry the head off. The drum for its age was in fine shape, good chrome and a perfect working Rapid strainer. The old countertop wrap came off easily and the re-wrap I did came out perfect, even matched the seam dead center behind the butt plate like those old Craftsman at Slingerland did. The drum gleaming in new red sparkle made the kit, retro cool with the 6 lugs. A great drum until I tried to dial it in. Didn't matter low tuning, medium tuning or high tuning the drum sounded boxy and the snares themselves like they were rattling around just outside the room. In frustration the drum went into the closet and I used a mismatched but exquisite mid sixties Artist snare with the kit. Well all the talk of Puresounds must have worked on my sub concious as one night while ordering a couple CD's on Amazon ordered up a set of Puresounds. When they arrived I was first impressed by the high quality; no blobs of solder on the snare wire ends, no bent or misshaped wire, nice copper finish on the ends, a fine looking sent of snares. But how will they sound? I put them on the drum; I used cord rather than the wire that came with the snares, personal preference. I set the drum behind the kit, gave it a few rolls and damn near fell off the throne! The change was astounding. Gone was the boxiness, the snares responded immediately and suddenly that warm fat sound associated with old Slingerland mahogany snares rang out. Just an immediate and incredible difference. Over the course of a week or so I experimented with a variety of tuning ranges and found the sweet spot just a little high above medium tuning however all other tunings sang almost as well. The snares whether set loose or tight refused to choke and were responsive over all tensions. I play with a jazz guitar trio and ghost notes since the addition of the Puresounds no matter how hushed had an audible and defined presence. Yes I think these one of the finest aftermarket products I've bought for any part of my kit, they defined the snare sound, dare I say most bang ever for the buck! I did replace a set of 13" wires on a home built picillo snare with Puresounds and experienced equally fine results and now I'm about to order a set for that "exquisite mid sixties Artist snare", cannot wait to hear how they will improve an already fantastic sounding drum. I highly recommend a set for any snare you may have that sounds less than you've expected it to sound, the difference you will hear is simply astonishing!RegardsDon STucsonAZ
