Long time buyer of PureSound snare wires, so no surprise that this is getting a 5 star review, first time that I've used the 30 strand wire and I'm very impressed by the overall sound

Love the outcome , exceeded expectations ( playing 50 yrs. tried switching snare wires in the past & didn’t get results, I put these on a beautiful wood snare 8x14 that wasn’t sounding good, came with standard 22 strand stainless, the difference is awesome !

Great wires, superb quality, but it has been a long time since I ordered snare wires and they used to come with snare ties I've never purchased a pair that came with straps just the wire. However, apparently things have changed over the years and I received this nice 14 inch snare wire with no means of attaching it to my snare drum so now I guess since I can't seem to find anything else I have to purchase snare straps, or wires separately.

I am usually a "less is more" kind of guy but I thought I'd give this wide 30 strand product a try just for kicks. Man, am I glad I did! This thing woke up my moderately-priced 13 inch Crush snare! It isn't my personal set (I play the church drums) so the modification I can do is limited. After installing these wires I was pleased to find my light hits registering with full "tch" and no buzz making it easier to play with ghost notes and deepen the dynamics of my playing. The product seems well built and strong with heavy ends and good welds. I'd buy again for my personal snares.Note: The 13 inch strands are for a 13 inch drum. They are not 13 inches long. I felt it was worth mentioning after reading some reviews from disappointed buyers.

Used these to breath some life back into my Gretsch 14 x 5.5 brass snare... not sure of the model, but 8 years ago when I bought it, it was around $400. Anyways, I used a remo ambassador as a batter and ambassador hazy on the snare side. Tuned it up to 80 with my drum dial on each head, and holy crap! It's the snare sound I've always wanted. It cracks so loud if you hit hard, hits the slightest ghost notes so cleanly, and ZERO over resonance no matter HOW it's hit. If you hit off that "sweet spot" in the center, you get these beautiful overtones that work perfectly for that warm sounding bohnam-ish snare sound. The "sweet spot" is a powerful, deep crack. I love it! When I rebuild my other pearl export snare, I will go with these snares for SURE.

I have had a Ludwig Supraphonic mid to late 60's that came with the Ringo Star type set which I purchased in 1969. That snare has always been a bit ringy for me even though I had added a bit of cloth strip dampening under the head. I had to hit right in the middle to avoid the excessive ring. When I played on another snare, wood shell, at rehearsal, I was impressed with how sensitive and responsive it was all over the surface and wanted mine to be somewhat similar. I had the standard width snares.I decided after some reading to replace the snares with this PS super 30 and it solved some of that over tone ringing where I can hit further beyond the center before the ringing becomes annoying plus this gave me much more sensitive response to lighter strokes. I can't say if just replacing my very old snares with a new set of standard width would have done near as well but I thought why not give these a try. These didn't completely solve my problem and it may take more refined dampening of the head, changing them or just go to a wood drum but I do feel they contributed enough to improving the sound and response that I feel they were worth it.
