I purchased the option that has two modules that you use on either end of the network cable, and they work exactly how I would expect them to. But, I also wanted to use my review to help other people that are trying these understand what they are, and what they are not.The ONLY option here that will let you get more than one computer on the network AT THE SAME TIME, is the "1 to 2 Network Extender Adapter [2 Devices Simultaneously]" option. For that to work, you connect one of them near your computers, and then the other one near your router or switch. Since 100Mbps networks only use 4 of the 8 wires, what this is doing is using 4 wires for one computer, and 4 for the other, which also restricts your connection speed to 100Mbps. (Back in the day, we called this "pair splitting".)If you are looking at any of the other options, and expecting them to allow you to connect one router or switch port to more than one computer, understand that doing so is NOT possible with a passive device like this! What they are likely doing is basically taking the 8 wires in, and tying them to the 8 wires on the "output side". This means that if you only turn on one computer at a time, it will probably work. If you turn on more than one, it is likely that either only one will work, or neither will work. This is because of how ethernet networks are built. They are not made to have more than one computer on a single port without using something like a hub, switch, or router.So, if you are looking to get two computers on at the same time, have an available port on your switch/router, and are okay with 100Mbps speeds (when most computers do 1000Mbps or more these days), get the one with two modules and you should be good to go.If you are trying to hook up more than one computer at the same time, you need a network switch. So, go up to that search bar, and enter "ethernet switch" and buy something that comes up. In general, network switches have at least 5 ports, though there may be some that are smaller. Pick a well known brand like NetGear, TP-Link, or Linksys. You probably want one that is 1Gbps or higher. (Higher may not be worth it unless you have a REALLY fast Internet connection, and computers that can use it. If you don't KNOW that you do, then you probably don't.)Or, said another way, if you want to get more than one computer on at the same time, and you find a "splitter" that doesn't have a power adapter, it most likely WILL NOT do what you want. The ethernet electronics aren't built to do what you are trying to do. Best case, it won't work. Worst case, you may damage your switch or router.How can I be so sure? I've been a network engineer for over 30 years.
