Served the perfect purpose for what i needed it for! I have been using it since i got it. I bought this because my fiber internet box only has two Ethernet outlets. This helps to extend to the WiFi box so i have multiple Ethernet slots to have both my work from home jobs incorporated.

Got the Ethernet splitter so I could have 2 routers on 1 line. Works well, was inexpensive, connected easy.

So, this is perfect for downloading and streaming for more than one device. I tested it on a ps5 and gaming computer simultaneously, and it's amazing! However, for hosting, like PS Remote Play, the upload speed is important. The upload speed is averaging 20mb. Internet is push/pull, and if both work nicely then you have a good experience. I highly recommend this for multiple devices needing to stream, download, etc. However, if you need to connect remotely to a vpn, ps5 remote play, it may be a bit laggy. I decided to go with a more robust switch.

I plugged one end into the modem, one port went to the router and the other goes to a computer. It works with the router just fine, but provides no internet to my computer.

This device does not work connected directly to a modem. You need a managed network prior to the switch. A modem only produces 1 ip address. A router or "managed" switch will take that 1 ip address and turn it into hundreds. The switch will not function properly without something assigning the ip addresses

I work from home and have 2 separate PC's that need to be hard wired. This does the trick without comprising speed. Both work well. Just plug in and go. It does come with a charger cord so you will need a power adapter box.
