i am usually pretty stingy about my reviews but i give this a 5 star because it saved my life. i was using it outside my house and got hit with a severe emf spike and had to seek cover indoors. this also correlates with the exact area where previously i had a serious car accident related to an overheat condition and a broken hood latch. this lead to a line of medical inquiry and tests where I realize i have a severe EMF sensitivity. Also, the level of intensity of these EMF spikes in this area actually have potentially caused the various and frequent electrical issues in my car. From the data gleamed from this device I have began designing better electrical failsafes for my motor vehicle.i dont know how accurate it is. for 80 dollars, it fits what i need perfectly. just a great residential meter for normal people that is straightforward and easy to understand.I have several times forgot to turn my RF off on either my cell phone, or router. This device will pick it up so i can remember to turn them off before going to sleep. Also, I learned how dangerous microwaves can be, and now generally just stay 6 or so feet out of the field strength changes when they are on.Thank you to the engineers who designed this, the company and manufacturers.Very happy customer.

I used this on my cellphone, tablet and Kindle, and they showed no radiation in the 'warning' range. However, out walls and electrical outlets show high warnings. I found that my reading chair and computer were already outside of the warning range (for instance, a charging cellphone is in warning range - just move it a foot or more away from you).Bose wi-fi radios show warning ranges even when not on - just sit out of range.I have also since unplugged a power strip under the bed, and am unplugging an extension cord at night that showed warning ranges where my head is on the pillow at night.Very informative for reducing EMF exposure.

I bought this for my children who were moving into new apartments. I worry if they are putting their bed on the other side of their next door neighbor's TV or any thing that can cause harm from EMF. They used this to put their furniture and bed, desks, where it is safe.

I compared the readings with other devices, and this one was less precise. It’s easy to use and works fine for general use, but not the best for accuracy.

In wie weit man den Messewerten vertrauen schenken kann, muss jeder für sich selbst wissen, ich denke mal die wenigsten haben ein Kalibriertes Messgerät zuhause um zu vergleichen ;-)Ich habe das Gerät mit einem bestimmten Hintergedanken bestellt und zwar um meinen Kindern mal vor Augen zu führen, was passiert wenn man z.B. ein Handy benutzt im vergleich dazu, wenn es am Ladekabel angesteckt ist.Es ist wirklich erschreckend, wie die Werte zb. bei einem Anruf oder beim anstecken an das Ladekabel sprichwörtlich durch die Decke gehen. innerhalb 1 Sekunde gehen die werte in den hohen roten Bereich.Meine Kinder haben große Augen bekommen, was dort passiert. Mit der Strahlung ist es eben so, was man nicht sehen kann, kann auch nicht gefährlich sein.Ich kann jedem nur empfehlen damit einfach mal durch das Haus zu laufen, ist wirklich super interessant!

I don't have thousands to spend on an EMF meter but I was happy to find 1 with lots of great ratings for a reasonable price. I tried it & was shocked to see how HIGH (extreme) the router readings were. Expected the high readings from the microwave & learned where a safe zone is for where that is. I'm Happy to know I am in a "safe zone" being far enough away from the router when watching TV & that I am not being zapped by the modem that's in the computer area. I'm happy with this purchase which is as advertised & that arrived on time & in great condition.

I sent this to a friend for a gift and they checked all electronics and appliances. Easy to use. It worked well, and they discovered high ratings on several electronics and the one appliance was abnormally high. They immediately had repair person out, and appliance was repaired. This was worth the cost! I had no idea it would work this well.

I had high hopes for this unit but it failed my most basic expectation so its being returned. The unit seems well made. The negatives are....minimalistic user manual is basically worthless. And there is no mention of a website where one can go for some further information. There is an email address listed for support...ya...have fun with that. This unit will detect various strengths of a magnetic field or an electric field from a lamp, a refrigerator, a lamp, or some gear. But any such readings are erratic and inconsistent. So don't get too excited. But no EMF really meaningful measurements like for a router or smartphone readings. And that is not surprising, for the specs on this unit, which is printed on the back of the box says .....its measurement bandwidth is from 5Hz - 3,500 MHz. Therefore this unit is NOT able to detect the much higher MHz nor the GHz RF frequencies that would be worth while to detect so one can then judge the strength at various distances. Those frequencies are the ones one should be most concerned for ones safety. For that is where most of our modern personal electronic devices receive and emit RF. Therefore in my opinion this device is for the most part a toy. If I am wrong then maybe there is a video somewhere that was made by the manufacturer showing how to use this unit for its maximum effectiveness which I have yet to realize...and as others have also commented on.

Very nice EMF detector, it appears quite sensitive, and it's a great investigative tool.It really helps to understand what e-fields and h-fields are in order to interpret the readings properly, otherwise you may freak out when the screen goes in warning/red. It did allow me to discover many surprises around the house though, and the measurements it took look quite accurate.Some others reported quirkly readings. I also initially thought mine was quirky, but the readings ended up being true, you just have to investigate. For example, my detector was having quite strange fluctuating readings around my laptop, keyboard and trackpad, and reacted differently depending on the way I held the detector, which was pretty weird. Until I figured out it was actually my electric sit-stand desk that was generating EMF fields and my body was interacting with those fields. Once I unplugged my desk, I was able to take very accurate readings of my computer equipment, which were surprisingly low.Since this detector only detects lower-band frequencies (5Hz-3.5Gz), this is non-ionizing radiation, so you really have to take into consideration that high readings and the wild beeps + red screen of the detector emits don't mean you're in danger! You really have to take in consideration the measured values, the distance and duration of exposure.For example, the detector goes wild when I'm testing it with my microwave, and most would be scared of the red screen, flashing LED and constant beeps the detector emits, but just stand a few feet away and it drops to normal levels, and even up close, that's only for a few minutes. In comparison, my electric blanket heater emits quite a bit of radiation, which is at much closer range and for much longer, so between the two, if I'd want to reduce my EMF exposure, it's not my computer, screen, TV or microwave I should worry about - it's my blanket! ;).
