This product works. It does what it says, arrived in good condition. It is a gift so I cannot review it. it was a gift so I do not know much more then this.

a good, almost addictive program (purchased in July of 2012) but mine stopped after 20 uses because my serial number would not validate (it claimed the SN was for a different software - ear master pro instead of ear master 5)customer service told me down load a new program but the server for this alleged down load "can't be found" …. so, this is where its stands …. $87.45 for 20 uses. That stinks

I hesitated to buy this because I saw a bunch of free ear training software.The old adage - you get what you pay for applies here. The free tools are OK, whereas EAR Master pro is excellent.What you pay for:-- better sound/instruments-- much better instruction-- memory/tracking/and statistics-- A vastly deeper understanding of the topic-- multi note/harmonyThe product is worth the money.

The exercises are excellent! I am not that deep into the software, but the exercises are perfect for training the ear. Ear Master pushes your relative pitch and understanding of rhythm. Some of the early exercises are very easy, depending on your own strengths and weaknesses. Other exercises I have taken quite a few tries to get through. But that is okay because it means that I need the help. The exercises are randomized so there is no cheating by memorizing.Ear Master keeps meticulous track of your progress, or lack thereof. The interface is easy to use and allows you to decide where you need to go. There are 12 exercise types, dealing with intervals, chords, scales, rhythm and melodic dictation. You can always skip exercise levels, but you wouldn't want to cheat yourself by doing that.The midi is pretty good sounding. I am a guitarist primarily. The midi sound for guitars are hard to duplicate so not being great does not detract from this product, in my opinion.Using my audio interface does present a small problem. Ear Master does not recognize the multiple inputs from my 'Firepod.' It only recognizes input 1. I have my effects processor hooked up to inputs 1 and 2, and my mic is in 3. Changing them out every time I want to use ear master would be a pain. Consequentially, I don't use the mic input very often. On the other side, being able to clap or sing into the mic is a great feature. When I have had my mic in input 1, Ear Master handled it fluently, even on my old PPC 10.4 Mac OS X.I find the price fair for this product and see myself using it for years to come.

I bought this as a gift for my wife and she loved it. She's been wanting to play piano by ear and has been downloading apps on her Ipad. She said this is better than any app that she's downloaded.

I could not get the product activated. I registered the product using the EarMaster Essential Bundle Serial Number found on the cover page of the User Guide and included my email address as required by the EarMaster website and it is my understanding that a serial number would be emailed to me for purposes of activating the product. I have not recieved the email with such serial number. Without the Product being activated the trial period has expired and it can no longer be activated or used. I have emailed EarMaster regarding this matter using their Support email address and they have not responded. Maybe Amazaon will refund me the $48.00 they charged for it.

I ordered this from Amazon. Shortly after I ordered it, I changed jobs, so it took me awhile to get around to installing the program. When I installed it, it said invalid serial number, and won't let me use the program beyond the trial period. I tried it with the dashes and without the dashes, in caps and in lower case, treating the 0 as a zero and the letter o. It just says wrong serial number. It has been more than 30 days since I ordered it, so Amazon won't take it back. Nor will they give me a valid serial number. Usually Amazon has great customer service, but they really dropped the ball on this one. Total waste of money because I can't use the program. I will think twice about ordering from Amazon in the future.

The flexibility of this product is fantastic when learning to recognize intervals, chord qualities and inversions. However, when it comes to using the dictation portion, be it rhythm or melodic, it is a challenge. I am using only a computer and not a keyboard attached so perhaps it is better with that. It is difficult to toggle between the duration of the note and the place to put it. If you place the note in the wrong spot, you have to start all over again. For someone learning to dictate melodies, a pen a paper might be a better way to go than to fight with the program.
