The DURATECH 6.5L Oil Extractor Pump Pneumatic/Manual, Fluid Extractor with Pipe Storage Units can be used in either Pneumatic - with an air compressor - or manually with the hand pump to quickly remove your motor oil through your dipstick tube or oil extraction tube provided by some automobile manufactures. Easy to use, and if your vehicle has a "cartridge" type oil filter accessible from the engine compartment, will allow you to change your oil and filter without getting on the ground or underneath the vehicle. I wish I had gotten one of these pumps years ago!

I was really hoping the pneumatic feature lived up to my expectations. However, it worked much slower than manually pumping the unit. The pneumatic feature was the reason I bought this. I estimate that the pneumatic operation would be about twice as fast as hand pumping, not half as fast. Ergonomics was also not ideal. Then handle at the bottom to help empty the tank is also not aligned ideally relative to the spout. The placement causes the spout to "rotate" from where you want it, causing spillage if you're not holding it perfectly. Bummer as I really wanted to like this thing but thje slow pneumatic action was a deal breaker.

It seems like everyone has been getting this for free! For me I paid for this with my own money. The product itself looks good, the holder tube is beyond cheap. But the actual canister and pump itself is pretty good. The amount of vacuum it is able to build is sufficient. It takes some good work to get a strong vacuum built up though, and you will be doing a whole lot of pumping. The biggest issue I had was the tubes are too short, at least for the 2014 GMC Sierra trans dipstick tube. All extensions fits inside but are all too short to reach the bottom and you can't chain multiple extensions together. Another major issue is the black fittings come apart too easy, if you stick these down too far and hit a snag, you are gonna get a tube stuck in your dip stick if you aren't careful.Overall if this came with one tube that was double the length, and maybe twist locking connections it would be perfect. I am not giving up yet, I am going to try finding my own tube that would fit one of the disconnects then trying this puppy again.UPDATE:I found some 1/4 in OD air line that fit one of the fittings and created my own super long extension. It managed to vacuum out everything that is reachable via dipstick. I made sure my truck was cool to the touch or at a temp I am confident would not melt anything. It was a slow and long process, but trading time for a cleaner process was worth it. It won't replace going under and pulling everything apart, but if you are just trying to get some fresh fluid in there this is the way.The product works and does so in a pretty painless way. After spending a few hours with it, I feel like this is worth every penny. But be warned, if the extension is too short to work, do not stick the black fitting into your dipstick. Spend the $10 and buy a 30ft roll of air line to make one as long as you need. I cannot imagine the nightmare of trying to fish one back out or having to pull everything apart to remove a stuck extension.UPDATE 2:After playing with it a few more times doing different tasks, I found a few things help it work more efficiently.Once the fluid starts flowing, you can pretty much walk away. It helps keep the siphon going if you set the extensions in a smooth downward slope towards the canister. Every now and then you need to come back to pump the handle. Tight turns are ok but you will need to do more work to maintain vacuum. The amount of vacuum you build via handle still feels very weak, but is overall usable. As you get to the last bit of fluid, you will loose suction and will need to manually pump or use the air connections to keep extracting. You will get a nice arm/shoulder workout if you want to extract every bit of fluid, this is where an air compressor comes in nicely. Not a fault of this tool, that is just the nature of trying to extract fluid in this manner.Pouring out the fluid was a breeze, not a single drop was spilled. It makes doing fluids on your car way more enjoyable. I can see you using this to extract fluids before doing work on things like the cooling system. I used this to vacuum out coolant before doing my thermostat on the truck, the only mess was some residual left in the hose. There are so many uses for this with things which you would normally have to pull a line and put a pan underneath.Overall, this is a handy tool! I was highly skeptical at first with all the Vine reviews and was gonna go with a more reviewed brand. But Duralast didn't let me down before with their other tools, so I am glad I took the plunge!

I originally bought this for just one job to slowly drain and refill trans fluid as I didn’t feel like dropping the pan. Then Had to change out an oil cooler on a town and country and didn’t want to bother with draining coolant. This pump went to work!!! This pump saved me so much hassle and little to no clean up.

This is a solid tool, I used it to change oil for my car, lawn mower, motorcycle and boat. No mess, just pump and let the tool to do the work

Great product. Took a minute to extract but works great. I would recommend to anyone who needs this for their vehicles.
