I have not tried the quail scent as pictured. I did try the pheasant scent and my hunting dog smelled and then licked it off the finger off the guy holding the dummy to fetch. so im guessing he knew the scent and gave it a tongue's up ??? 😁

I’m not sure how many quail they had to squeeze to get this tiny bottle or if it is even from a quail but my new Brittany spaniel pup is absolutely obsessed with it. It smells absolutely horrible to me so I don’t advise opening the bottle in your house. Before i was just using a dove wing to attempt to get her to point since it’s not quail season here yet and dove is all that I had available. She was not interested in the dove wing and would not even point it at all. After a few drops of the “quail scent” on the dove wing she was holding point for 5 mins at a time and never letting up.

This did exactly what it was supposed to. I couldnt believe how well it worked. I have a pointer mix that I never worked when he was a puppy to reward the point behavior. Years later I am trying to bring it out again in him and this has been the keystone. I applied it to one of his toys with a wing stapled to it and boy does he pay attention after a few drops. If I was a better trainer he would probably be ready for this season but since we are both new to it I am taking it slow and the progress has been great so far.Even in the hands of an idiot like me who has just watched a few youtube videos this product has worked very very well.

Dog seems to find decoys with it. I never smelled dove azz so nothing to compare it to.

This is a great tool when training bird dogs! I really notice that many young dogs ( less than a year old ) tend to rely on sight for alot of time white retrieving a mark. This product helps unlock that instinct when they catch wind of the mark and will be right on it! I really like using this product when casting my dog. So he has something to smell and see. Make sure you apply this outside, some may want to use some sort of rubber gloves as the odor is quite potent and will stay on your hands!
