There seem to be problems with drive medical pumps and beds. I've had six of these mattresses... Three smaller cheaper 36" ones, a 42 inch bariatric model, and two of the 60 inch bariatric models. The pumps can be noisy and do not last long. They are expensive to replace, and in the recent past, inventory throughout the Internet is low. I have replaced the $800 14030XP several times. The first one I had lasted more than three years, which worked until it got very loud. I regularly replace the filter, as directed. Two of the new pumps I have purchased have not fully inflated the bed. The midsection is always low. Sitting up results in bottoming out unless using seat filling function, which requires help from another person. A remote or programmability would be nice. I now have six 14030XP, five in my closet that need repair, and three mattresses, none of which work. There are no repair options. I have called every place in Colorado. The places Drive medical recommends do not return calls and are not interested in doing repairs. I have pressure injuries that have been sustained from using this system.

Would be great for someone who is only lying down. My husband is a paraplegic, and mostly sits in bed. Because of sitting, his hips fall between the air chambers, hitting the bottom. Also, the straps holding the air chambers together tend to dig into him.
