Dr. Ph. Martin's Bombay India inks offer powerful color in a convenient dropper-stopper glass bottle. These highly pigmented India inks not only remain lightfast and permanent, but are also totally waterproof when dry. They adhere to nearly all surfaces and are non-clogging when used in pens. Inks can be diluted with water and used with brushes in traditional watercolor techniques or in dip pens, technical drawing pens, and airbrushes. All colors are brilliant and transparent, except black and white, which are opaque and have excellent covering power. Each set includes 12 different colors in 1.0 oz (30 ml) glass bottles with droppers and a custom mixing palette. Available in 24 colors.

For the price, this ink is great quality. Pigment is good and it doesn't bleed.

I used this ink for a practice that I found on Lois & Morgaine Davidson Art channel on YouTube. I also use this ink in my watercolor paintings, I like the effects whether my painting is dry or wet.

This ink is very nice! Applies smoothly with a brush, and is very pigmented. The dropper makes it easy to use only what you need without unnecessary waste, as a little goes a long way. The cap seems secure and well-fitting, so I do not anticipate any leaks. It dries fairly quickly, but not so fast that it makes it difficult to use. Would definitely recommend this brand for both experienced artists and those just starting with inks. Will likely purchase more from this brand in different colors.

This bottle came pretty quickly for where I am and was fairly reasonable priced (inc. the postage), but what I have found is that the pigment drops quite quickly and so it needs shaking every time you use it. My other Indian Ink is much richer (but too rich at times) - looking for an inbetweener perhaps...?

I love that this ink is waterproof. Not all calligraphy inks are waterproof. It's perfect for lettering my calligraphy onto my watercolor work, and not accidentally smudging the ink when touched. It is fast drying and I can watercolor over the ink without smearing!I found this ink was a bit thin when first opened, but learned to work with it. Just keeping the lid open for a while helped the ink consistency for calligraphy too.Because of its waterproof and quick drying property, the ink dries quickly on my nib and doesn't wipe off easily with just water. I found that cleaning the ink off my nib with rubbing alcohol worked well.

I ADORE Dr. Ph. Martin's inks. The colors are true to how they appear in the bottle (once any sediment has been properly shaken up and suspended), truly waterproof, no fading. The ink doesn't run and bleed everywhere, it works with every nib I've tried (quite a range, every modern leonardt, almost every modern speedball, several others), and almost every paper (anything your nib scratches to bits is obviously out of the question). It is a thicker ink than many others you might find--it flows beautifully, smooth without breaks, but you don't want to, say, leave it in a roundhand nib with a reservoir untouched for ten minutes. It is ink. It will dry.But that just leads me to another plus--it's easy to clean out. Once dry it flakes off nibs at the touch of fingernail, not counting unfortunate grooves. It responds well to nib cleaning solution, abd of course when wet (again, not counting grooves where any ink would get stuck) it wipes right off with paper. I've also found that it come out of my scrap cloth with little effort, but don't go spilling it on your carpet or favorite white shirt and expect it to come out. I just mean that the scrap I use for cleaning isn't darkly or noticeably stained from these. They also are wonderful in painting, and again waterproof, so you can do things like soaking a drawing in tea to make it appear aged without worrying about losing the drawing.
