I was getting a buzzing sound from the doorbell and deducted that my transformer was toast so bought this and swapped out. No more buzzing.Note- I have a wired video doorbell attached and need this to power the line.

I purchased this for use with a Lorex video doorbell. Worked great. Requires some knowledge of electrical wiring to install.

I have two 2nd generation ring video doorbells. I installed this transformer 12/29/24. As of today 02/26/2025 I discovered it stopped providing power to the two doorbells and the doorbells are working off of battery power. The transformer reads 0.0 vac across the terminals but has 8.0 vac from each terminal to ground. Needless to say this is useless to me. It appears to be solid and well constructed however it could not power two ring doorbells for more than 2 months. I cannot recommend it. I do not believe there is a warranty for this item either.

I installed this so I didn't have to charge my nest battery door bell. It was easy to install. time will tell how long it will last.

It was easy to install, the instructions were staightforward and it was ideal for my new Kasa Smart Doorbell with enough voltage left to add cameras.

This was a replacement for my multi-zone boiler. It came with everything needed for a professional install. The transformer can be mounted in a steel box with a 1/2 knockout hole or it has the option to mount it with the included 4 bolt pad. I chose a metal box with a cover that had a 1/2 knockout and simply installed the transformer to the plate and tightened with included nut which made for a great tool free install. They really should provide a pic of the optional mount on back side. Wiring is of decent quality a gauge and should provide many years of service. My system uses zone motors to control heat and it handles the load with ease. If you are looking to use this for doorbell solution it would handle the task easily. his was less than half the cost of the same rated unit at the big box stores and greater mounting options. With Amazons fast shipping I never left the house and saved time and fuel running to the stores. Would definitely recommend this transformer for any needs requiring the rated specs.

Knew that I had to install this to support my Ring Pro. I had a Ring 2 and decided to return it for the Pro after seeing my neighbor's Pro. Two things that never get cited about the Pro - Constantly Buffered video, so you always get a few extra seconds on the front of an event, and color video at night. These are HUGE benefits. With the Ring 2, I got quite a few instances of seeing a delivery man walk away from my house, instead of seeing them walk up. Color Night vision is also substantially better than the grainy black and white for recognizing facial features. The other benefits (look, custom motion zones, etc) are well documented. Now to the product. Install was easy, and I was replacing the smoke detector that the original was mounted next to and sharing the circuit with. The low voltage circuit also runs my thermostat, so I opted for the higher 24v 40VA model transformer. Turned off the circuit at the breaker, and rewired the new smoke detector and transformer at the same time. Standard three wire connection, just had to strip a little more wire to get it to wrap with the other wires I had. Once installed, I popped the breaker back on and checked voltage outside, it was about 27 volts. This is NORMAL for these things, don't be concerned that it says 24 on the package and is delivering more. That is done ON PURPOSE. a 16 volt will deliver about 18. The 40 VA amperage is key here. Ring recommends a MINIMUM of 16 v, 30 amp, but in reality their RECOMMENDED rating is 24 volt, 40 amp. Dig through their online support and you'll see evidence of this.Hooked everything up at the outside doorbell and inside the house at the mechanical doorbell, powered it up and was able to install after a few minutes to let the internal battery get some charge. In your Device Health, there is a Power rating that will say something like "Good". Click on Good and it will change to give you the milli-volt value. Per Ring, this should be between 3900 and 4300. Mine now consistently gets 4000-4050 with this transformer, and my thermostat is fine too.
