My dog loves it, but it is cheaply made, and does not last. They no longer carry replacement parts for the pieces that always break. How do I know this? My third one has broken again with no replacement parts available. It makes me wonder if they are making them cheaply so they continue to sell new units. I have bought my last.

This is great!,!! Lasts a long time and is easy to fix or replace tubing when worn. Flies a disk ring which is easily caught and easy on the dogs mouth. Flies farther than I can throw with little effort on my part so I can last almost as long as the dogs.

This thing is a riot! My dog goes nuts when I pull it out. The discs don't last long with her...maybe we get 5-6 play sessions per disc before it's too loose to shoot properly. To be fair, I have a lab and she likes to squeeze her toys as she runs them back to me, so these probably would last longer if you dog doesn't do that. The heavy duty discs are durable, but they fly terrible. Don't bother with the durable discs, takes all the fun out of the length and speed of the shot from a normal disc. Just be prepared to pay for new discs and figure that into your purchase.

My dogs really enjoy this toy. The initial package came with 3 ring. I ordered 6 more about a month later. The upkeep and replacement cost of this toy is a bit much- $50 for the kit+ $30 for the new rings. Fast forward 6 weeks later, I’ve had to tape the rings back together. Now I need another set…. Ugh…

As many others have said the concept of this toy is really great. It's fun to shoot, the rings can go surprisingly far, and the dogs absolutely love it. However, the disks are made of a light foam and they are pretty flimsy. I understand they need to be very light to get the distance, but after just four 20-30 minute sessions they are already tearing just from the dogs picking them up and carrying them and I can tell they will not last long (the one in the photo is already a goner). I do have two large Labs, so that is certainly a factor. However, I have not allowed the dogs to tug on the rings at all, but if they did I'm sure they would immediately rip in half. If this item was half the price I would sort of expect this, but $50 is not inexpensive and it's an absolute certainty that I will have to spend more on replacement rings (and probably rubber bands) if I want to keep using it. I'm going to order some of the "extra tough" rings, but if they only last twice as long and are twice the price and only go half the distance, I'm not sure they are any more cost-effective than the standard rings. It would be nice if they sold the launcher at or near cost and then had subscription service or some other way to order replacement rings at a reasonable cost. I understand they need to make a profit, but I'm not going to keep spending $6/ring on regular basis.Update 5/26/22: I bit the bullet and purchased the extra tough rings. After several sessions, I can say that they are definitely more durable; so far, no rips or tears. The downside is that you lose probably 20% - 30% on the distance, so some of the fun-factor is diminished (for the human, anyway). My dogs don't care, but I do have to shoot it more often because they don't have to go as far to get it. I'm on the fence about recommending them due to the $12/ring cost, but if you want to use this toy on a daily basis like I do, then they're probably a must-have. The standard rings just don't hold up. Overall, I'm leaving my rating at 2 stars because of the high cost and the ongoing need to buy expensive replacement parts.Update 6/2/22: After a couple of weeks of playing with this, I've increased my rating from 2 stars to 3 stars. The flimsy construction of the standard rings is still a big issue, but the "extra strength rings" are holding up well. That's the tradeoff between distance and durability. Everything else has been holding up well so far with twice daily use, but I know the band well need to be replaced eventually (they actually include an extra one with the unit). The bottom line is that the dogs absolutely love it, but I can't go above 3 stars due to the high price of the unit and the additional money that will need to be spent on replacement parts.

I am a dog trainer. I want to mention before anything that I have no affiliation with Hurrik9. This toy is AWESOME! However, BUY THE ONE WITH THE DURABLE STAR RINGS. the reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because of the cheap standard rings. First one I shot at the dog park got torn in half after two dogs grabbed it the first time I shot it. BUT... I emailed the company direct and explained what had happened, and also mentioned that their advertisement specifically says that the rings are durable, which is one of the reasons I bought it, and they actually sent me 3 of the durable rings free of charge. That was awesome. The durable rings, although didn’t fly quite as far as the others due to a little more weight cuz of the spandex material but still flew great, they survived straight up TUG OF WAR between my two Aussies. I would still avoid too much tugging if possible because after a few months of playing EVERY DAY they slowly stretched a little too much and would no longer shoot. Did I get my money’s worth? Absolutely. So much so that I am going to buy a 6 pack of the durable rings because I even miss playing with it. And, I also learned that you can purchase and individual parts off the Hurrik9 website if any of them break so you don’t have to buy a whole other unit like some of the other reviewers on here did, and are mad cuz they feel they threw their money away. I would have felt the same way, but it’s not necessary for anyone to feel that way cuz you can buy the rubber bands by themselves for like $5. The toy is great. Try it out for yourselves. GET THE DURABLE RINGS.
