Overall working well for our little dachshund. She is a small dog (currently 3lbs) but is definitely increasing our success in potty training her. We live on the second floor and the concept makes more sense to her on the balcony I presume. I will say even with her the pee does stay on top so more holes drilled in it is needed.

This product is nice in theory. Having just got a puppy spaniel, but living in an apartment, we wanted something that would give us the option to not go out for every “potty” break. We were originally using just a turf pad on the balcony and quickly realized (the hard way) we needed a tray underneath to keep the ground sanitary. This option solves for that — the tray is good and does what it’s supposed to. The problem is that the pad is so thin it basically only works for 1 or 2 pees, and then the whole thing becomes soaked. Perhaps if you swapped out frequently this would work. I’m going to keep the tray and turf and look for a thicker pee pad (maybe even something for bed wetting…) as an alternative. 3 stars for being a thing that kind of does its job — which is still 100x better than the alternate reality :)

I go a new puppy this summer and we worked on potty training. I had to go back to work in August and was fretting that my puppy was not trained on pee pads. Luckily for her (and me!) I came across this grass pad and it made the transition seamless. She is too young to keep crated all day so I sectioned off an area and I use the grass pad in the area. It brings a tray and a few pads, that you place between the tray and the grass pad. Any mess goes through the grass pad and is caught in the pee pad underneath. It brings an extra pad so you can wash one while using the other. I have found the pads easy to wash, I spray a light bleach solution on it just for a bit of a deeper clean. For me, it has worked well to put down the second pad with a peed pad underneath and my girl has two pads to use. They dry quickly enough that this is feasible. I would highly recommend to anyone struggling to leave a new puppy alone, to anyone that lives in an apartment, and to anyone that has a pup that hates going out in the rain!

We just adopted a 6 lbs, 10 week old puppy on Saturday . I bought this because I wanted to train her to go on grass and not on paper or fabric . It seemed to work well initially but unfortunately because the edges are not finished she ripped it to shreds. This was extremely dangerous and there was black rubber everywhere and little pieces of green grass, and long black strings as well. And it wasn’t just individual pieces. There were clumps too. I still don’t know if she swallowed any of it. I literally turned my back for a few minutes, and she was able to pull it apart. She is a tiny little puppy. I can’t imagine what a larger dog would do to this. In theory, it’s a great concept, and it works well, but this is not safe! It also totally defeats the purpose of leaving it for her in a fenced in kennel when I can’t be there because if she rips it apart and is it that is not OK. In order for this to be safe, they need to change the bottom backing material, finish off all the edges, and make sure that none of the grass can be ripped out. I will post a picture when I get a chance. It looks like a shredder got a hold of it.

It actually worked!!Since starting a new position last year, I suspected my dog had been peeing in the corner of the living room carpet when I am gone, as I am only able to get home during my lunch break to let her outside between 8 and 5. A UV light confirmed this.(FYI: I did not discipline or correct her, as it is not her fault. She is well potty trained, and the sweetest girl in the world - just has a small bladder).I introduced my happy chihuahua to the grasspad and she immediately used it! I was astonished!Time will tell if it is easy to keep clean and/or starts to smell despite cleaning regularly. I purchased a large pack of pads and plan to replace them daily and wash the pad in the tub weekly.
