70lbs Diving Lift Bag

Special design means more air at top to keep the lift bag stable in the water, it's essential equipment for salvage and signaling, to redundant lift and emergency flotation, and great equipment for every open diver, scuab diving, snorkeling.

Open lift bags (parachutes)

Open lift bags (parachutes) are open at the bottom to allow the expanding excess air to spill out as the bag rises to the surface. This keeps the bag from splitting a seam and dropping the load to the bottom.

THREE WAYS TO USE

WHY WE NEED A LIFTING BAG?

  • A lifting bag is an item of diving equipment consisting of a robust and air-tight bag with straps, which is used to lift heavy objects underwater by means of the bag's buoyancy.

WHEN DO WE NEED TO USE IT?

  • This medium size lift bag is ideal for lifting small to medium objects from depth. Applications include: Deep and Shallow Water Salvage, Towing, Recreational Diving, Emergency Rescue, General Flotation, Dynamic Ascending Buoyancy Assist, Pipe or Cable Flotation, Under Water Construction etc.

OPEN LIFT BAGS?

  • The Self-Sealing one way baffle at the bottom of the lift bag opening will allow air into the lift bag, when full any extra or expanding air will spill out.
  • The shape of an open lifting bag should distribute the volume in a vertical rather than a horizontal direction so that the open end of the bag always remains underwater. If the open end reaches the surface, air will escape from the bag and it may sink.

LIFT BAG OR SMB?

  • A surface marker and guideline are an essential part of a tech diver’s kit. Some of people use either a lift bag or an SMB (surface marker buoy) as the marker.

I recently got this diving lift bag for an up-coming trip and know it will be a total lifesaver! With a 70-pound lift capacity, it can easily raise heavy artifacts from the ocean floor. The trapezoidal shape keeps the bag stable underwater, making the whole process smooth and hassle-free. Plus, the high-visibility orange color and reflective strips made it super easy to spot, even in low-light conditions. The stainless steel D-ring and lifting strap at the bottom allow for quick attachment, and inflating it with a regulator is straightforward. The over-pressure valve with a long pull cord provide precise control. The durable, double-stitched nylon fabric is impressive and will hold up in rough conditions. If you're into tech diving or just need a reliable tool for your underwater projects, this lift bag is a must-have!

I have used this lift bag several times while participating in underwater cleanup operations in Sarasota Bay and offshore wrecks and reefs in the Gulf of Mexico. I have recovered numerous abandoned anchors with anchor chain easily with this bag. I have removed many other pieces of derelict junk from the bay. I just wish it rolled up smaller and had some type of positive belt or something to keep it rolled up. tight.

I've been doing lift recovery for a while. I wanted something with a little more lift capacity since I was using two 50lb lift bags for moving anchors for inflatables. I purchased the 140 lb variant. On the very first lift, in a pond so no current, less than 12 feet with a 80 lb anchor, the bottom of the lift bag nearly tore off seconds after positive lift was achieved. Thankfully it did not do a full tear and I was able to add a 50 lb bag and complete the move. Clearly the side seam needs reinforcement and a longer run up the side of the bag to support the 140 lb rating. The only plastic buckle also broke, most other lift bags use metal d rings for all points.
