I needed this mandrel for the key hole bit. This is a great quality, but I wish it would have been included with the hole drill bit.

Works very well with the Dewalt kits. this has the small diameter thread for holesaws smaller than 1".It will not carry the large diameter holesaws. Quality is good and better than what came with the kit.

I like this quick-change hole saw arbor. It makes change hole saw sizes quick and easy. It seems to be made well and appears as though it will hold up to rigorous use.

Great! Easy to use. Easy adjustment of pilot bit. Did the job and did it well with a 4 1/4 inch spyder brand hole saw (after spyder's 3/8 shank arbor would not fit their own saw). Saved the day.

Use this together with a 3-5/8" hole saw bit, drilling through 3/4" plywood to create holes for inverted mason jars. (Beekeeper, mason jars contain sugar water, and they drip feed the bees during periods where there's not much natural nectar.)Dewalt saw worked perfect, and this bit held it nice and secure and strong. I used a Dewalt hand drill set at max clutch setting. (My wrist wants to advise you, DO NOT try to use it at no clutch setting.)Note that Amazon defaults the bigger hole blades to come with the LARGER shank diameter as a standard.But this smaller shank fits in a hand drill and is every bit as strong.Most likely, THIS is the one you are looking for.

I used this to drill holes into my desk for wire management. This quick-change shank is a must-have in conjunction with the DeWalt hole saws you can purchase separately, but once you've made the investment you can get a variety of hole saw sizes that fit the same shank. Personally I think it's worth it to spend a bit more and get a quality tool, and I think this tool represents that.

I needed a mandrel to use with a 4" hole saw so I first bought the DW1803 with the 7/16 shank size, not checking to make sure my drill was compatible with that size. I was going solely off the packaging that stated that the DW1805 was for 3" and UNDER and the DW1803 was what you needed for 4"+ hole saws. Well obviously the DW1803 was too large for my DEWALT drill so I risked getting this DW1805 to use with the DEWALT D180064 4-Inch Standard Bi-Metal Hole Saw (it was listed as compatible on it's packaging) I had previously purchased here on Amazon. And as I figured it worked like a champ! The DW1805 and DW1803 are IDENTICAL except for the shank size, so don't let the packaging labels throw you off. If you have a more household level drill with a 3/8" shank use this mandrel and you can use the BIG DEWALT hole saws without an issue on compatibility. I WISH that DEWALT would indicate that on the mandrel packaging. On the back of the D180064 4" hole saw packaging in DOES identify compatible mandrels and the DW1805 is listed along side the DW1803.Wish I would have known earlier, could have saved myself the $13 I paid for the DW1803. Hopefully I can save someone else that same mistake.

The drill bit in the middle slides out when you tilt it forward to drill. No snap in functionality (unless mine is broken).UPDATE: On closer inspection while using this I found a black screw that is well camouflaged that can be tightened to secure the bit at whatever length you desire. In this case it would have been better for the screw to have been silver or gold colored instead of matching black.
