I teied several brands and this one was by far the best quality. However, it does not include an adaptor and O-ring to connect to copper pipe.

I have gone through 2 of these faucets and both leak out the back when diverting to a hand shower. I used the normal amount of teflon tape then tested from 1 to up to 5 layers of teflon between the adapter and faucet as well as the adapter and the steel tube from the wall. Nothing worked always leaked out the back. Look for another one.

This is a far superior product compared to the plastic Danco spout that I kept replacing, from Lowe's. This one is all metal, in an out. With that being said, there are two issues.1: this spout is about an inch shorter than most tub spouts. The water exits at an angle, instead of straight down, so it is really not a problem. It is also shorter on the back end, so expect a quarter inch gap between the spout and your wall. This needs to either be caulked (if under 1/4", only) or you can buy a narrow trim plate behind it.2: this one is IMPORTANT. There are two sizes of threading inside of this spout. I did not realize, and had a leak, when the diverter was turned on. I went one more turn, which was probably 1 too many, and still had the leak, so I took it back off. Once I removed it, the larger threaded piece stayed on my original pipe, so I covered it in pipe joint compound (stop using Teflon tape, it is trash.) And reassembled. No probs after that. There are no sort of instructions, and this spout is packaged oddly. There is also nothing to seal it with, in the box... Which would have been Teflon tape, which is just a waste of effort, anyhow.Buy pipe joint compound, and brush on a good coat, all around metal threads. Once you are done, wipe off the excess, which there should be.So the instructions are as follows:Unscrew your old tub spout. Look at the diameter of the water pipe, compare it with the diameter on the new tub spout.Unscrew the inner sleeve threaded part of the new spout. If your water pipe is the bigger size, brush on pipe joint compound all the way around the threaded section that enters the tub spout. If you need the smaller size fitting, brush on pipe joint compound to the exposed threads and screw it into the tub spout, then after brushing pipe joint compound on/around your water pipe, tighten it snugly. You do not have to put it on with tools, just nice and firm, by hand. Try to end your turn with tightening, or, do not turn too far, then loosen back straight.Turn on the faucet with diverter engaged, check for leaks. If you are leaking, try one more turn, firm, but not crazy. You got this!

It's heavy and has brass in it. What more can you ask for from Taiwan?

Whole tub is in metal, made in Taiwan, not North America. Works well, no matter if I use the shower head or the bath tub (no water leaking through tub when the shower is in use and vice-versa). Just got a problem after removing and putting back the 1/2 to 3/4 adapter: it got stuck in the tub when I put it back the wrong side. However, if you are careful enough to quickly realised that it is on the wrong side because it does not crew more than a couple of turns, then there will be no problem.

Impressed, the product feels solid, it is heavy and does not lack material. Was very easy to install and works perfectly. Will see in the long run how the shiny metal "plating" resists.

Install is easy, as expected. The diverter does not work great. In "diverted" mode, it is fine and only a small amount of water from the spout (as expected) but in normal mode, water gushes out of the hand shower as well as the spout. Too much trouble to uninstall and return but definitely a waste of money. Next time I will go for a name brand.

What an excellent way to add a shower to a tub! Good quality, metal parts. Because I didn't do any measurements, I had order after receipt of the spout a DANCO Decorative Metal Tub Spout Remodeling Cover Ring, Chrome, 1-1/2-Inch ID and 3-5/8-Inch OD (10007). But it looks great. Additionally I added a second adhesive wall mount shower head holder at a lower level. (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0765NP48M/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o06_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1). All three items together make a great shower addition to our master bath and it looks really nice. A whole lot easier & cheaper than a complete bath remodel!

25 years ago, I put myself through college working in a plumbing parts factory. We got parts sourced by manufacturers and assembled things like tub spouts, waste and overflow knobs, and faucet assemblies. So, after assembling several MILLION of these things in two years, I know a thing or two about plumbing parts.First, Peerless doesn’t accept junk. They have high standards of fit and finish, and they will not pass low quality items. This peerless spout is all metal, including real brass threads. The spout will accept either 1/2 or 3/4 inch pipe by removing an all-brass escutcheon (provided). The diverter stem is probably plated zinc, but the shutoff gate is real brass.I installed this spout on a bathtub that needed an accessory shower. The spout twisted on with a bit of teflon tape and seated perfectly at vertical top dead center. The accessory shower hose also seated and fit perfectly with some more teflon tape. Here’s something different. Tub spouts have an allowable tolerance for leaking when the shower head is diverted. Again, I tested these things until I saw them in my sleep. When I installed the Peerless, I expected the usual dribble of water when I diverted to the shower...nothing. I tried it again—maybe a few drops. This thing is high quality and completely exceeded my expectations. One thing you have to be aware of is that it is not very big. Even with a slight gap between the spout and the wall (which is the plumbing’s fault, not the spout—that’s what caulk is for), it only extends a little over 5 inches from the wall. So, take it from someone who has seen more tub spouts than any human needs to see—this is a great quality item.

I bought this to replace one just like it that was probably decades old. The local box stores had ones with plastic parts and were obviously cheaply made, and the local showrooms had giant more modern ones that were crazy expensive and all wrong for the style of my house. Instead I got this delivered the following day. It was indistinguishable from the old one it was replacing--same size, just as heavy, all metal parts. It did leak at first but only because the guy who installed it forgot to put plumber's tape around not only the pipe in the wall but some sort of adapter part. (I don't know more details--that's why I don't install these myself--but maybe that will help someone.) Once he corrected that error, it works beautifully. If I have any durability issues or future leaks, I'll come back and update, but I'm expecting this thing to last.
