Very nice meter of course like many say the test leads could be longer but you can do the modification yourself if savvy enough and that doesn't take too much, just need a good iron (soldering). I don't really need to do that with mine currently but it is great for measuring capacitance and other key factors when trying to judge if the component needs replacing.

There were a few different DE-5000's here on Amazon at the time of purchase, and this listing is the only one with the hard case included. I was a little hesitant to buy a product with no reviews at the time, but after checking the seller profile I took a risk and oh, boy - it was a great decision!This was the first package for quite a while that I hesitated to open for the sake of preserving this marvel of seamless packaging. I have to admit that I was not able to figure out how they created this packaging wonder from simple bubble wrap, and had to cut it.Now to the product itself - it comes with the hard case, TL-21, TL-22, TL-23 probes, a protective film to put on the LCD screen, and yes - they printed an English manual and included it as well. Mine also came with a 9V battery.Apply the LCD protective film, put in the battery (unscrew 4 screws to open the battery compartment on the back), skim through the manual - and voila! it works and ready to use.I do not have any high-precision equipment to verify its accuracy. Compared to the DMM - it reads the values of a few high-precision passive components I have more accurately.I was not too much impressed with the LCD screen (even with the light on), you would definitely have to use it on a well lit bench. Overall I am very happy with the purchase, it is definitely worth the money! I do not know any other inexpensive tool that can be used to quickly sort a pile of 5% passives based on their actual value with a reasonable accuracy - it's a great time saver to use DE-5000 for this purpose instead of a DMM.
