LCR-Reader-MPA: All-in-One Multimeter

LCR-Reader-MPA is an all-in-one multi tester with 0.1% and wide range of features, including oscilloscope, LED/Diode testing, AC/DC current/voltage testing, range of test frequencies including 100 kHz, frequency meter, continuity/open testing, etc.

When LCR-Reader-MPA's gold-plated tweezer tips make contact with a component, the device will automatically determine the type of component and best test parameters for that component. LCR-Reader-MPA will then measure the component with 0.1% basic accuracy; no set-up required.

The device can also be set for specific tasks; users can select their preferred test mode (L, C, R), test frequency (100 Hz - 100 kHz), test signal level (0.1, 0.5 and 1.0 Vrms), open/short calibration and more.

LCR-Reader-MPA was voted the bronze place winner for Plant Engineering's Product of the Year 2020 in the Maintenance Tools and Equipment category. MPA went up against products from Des-Case Corp, Exair and Fluke Corp. The winners can be seen in the May 2021 print edition of Plant Engineering.

Simplified Designed

LCR-Reader-MPA combines gold plated tweezers with a powerful multimeter in an ultimately portable device. At only 1 oz., it is easy to use and hold for extended periods of time, and is nearly undetectable in a bag.

The Li-Poly battery has a 80 hour continuous use battery and is rechargeable via micro-USB.

Controlling the Device

MPA uses a 4-way joystick navigational button that allows users to change basic test functions from the home screen - test mode, frequency, etc.

Pressing the button enters the menu where more specific test features are selectable - oscilloscope mode, signal generator, device settings, etc.

Display

All measurement values are instantly displayed on the backlit LCD. The primary and secondary values are displayed in the centre of the screen. Around the outside of the display is the test frequency, signal level, equivalent circuit, battery indicator and more.

LCR-Reader Kelvin Probe Connector

The Kelvin Probe Connector Kit is a two-wire connection that allows LCR-Reader to be used as a probe station. It also extends the reach of the device, allowing for components that are larger than the tweezers' tips.

The kit comes with 5 attachments

  • 2 alligator clips
  • 1 long pin probe
  • 1 medium pin probe
  • 2 multimeter 4mm jack plugs
  • 1 spade connector

Oscilloscope Mode

This mode allows users to view the voltage waveforms. The analog display is best used when testing voltage waveforms on active circuit boards. The right side of the display shows the horizontal scale, the vertical scale, signal frequency and signal span are displayed.

The Kelvin Probe Connector kit is useful when using the oscilloscope mode for testing various nodes on a PCB.

Had one for 6 months now. Accuracy was checked with precision standards and it looks great.The only instrument of its kind that operates at 100kHz. Great for measuring small capacitances on PCB with femto-Farad resolution..Other features were great too including the diode tester.A job very well done....

Prodotto eccezionale. Il prezzo è commisurato alle prestazioni ed alla precisione. Unica pecca potevano almeno inserire la calibration Board.In un secondo momento direttamente dalla Siborg System (Canada) mi è arrivata la calibration board...... che dire siete fantastici e senza dubbio seri. È uno strumento che non può mancare in un laboratorio o in dotazione a chi lavora seriamente in elettronica.

Wer schon einmal versucht hat, 0603 und kleiner in einen Bauelementehalter professioneller Meßtechnik einzufädeln, besonders wenn das Bauelement schon einmal einglötet war, wird dieses kleine Helferlein sehr zu schätzen wissen. Hiermit geht es viel schneller.Die überraschend hoch angegebene Genauigkeit wurde an 1% tolerierten Kondensatoren auf die Probe gestellt. Es gab keinerlei Anlaß an den angezeigten Werten zu zweifeln.Der kleine Joystick ist natürlich nichts für Bauarbeiterhände in den Abmessungen von Kohlenschaufeln. Wer aber öfters mit Vogelfutter hantiert, kommt damit gut zurecht.Die Bedienungsanleitung ist für einen Fachmann nachvollziehbar.Die aufgerufene Summe ist schon heftig. Man muß aber sehen, welche Genauigkeit man für das eingesetzte Geld bekommt. Das ist hier deutlich mehr als beim Gerätschaften für 20+X und nur eine Klasse schlechter als bei 10fach teureren Geräten.
