I bought this meter because it is one of the least expensive clamp-on ammeters I found that could measure both AC and DC amps. It's easy to use, and the clamp is small enough to fit into some tight spaces (helpful for automotive use), and the 1/2 inch diameter opening in the jaws is large enough to meet my needs. This meter appears to be identical to the B&K Precision model 316, which I also considered buying, but is more expensive.One nice feature is what the mfr. calls "Analog Signal Output". This allows connecting a DVM to the banana jacks in the DCM-043, and the DVM will display the AC amp or DC amp readings of the DCM-043 on the DVM as an AC or DC voltage. This is useful in situations where the clamp meter can't be easily positioned to be readable when it is clamped onto the wire being measured. The meter also has a peak hold function so that the reading on the meter's display remains until it is cleared manually.Attached are two photos showing measurements using the Analog Signal Output feature. This may be a case of "you get what you pay for." It's possible my DVM could be out of calibration. I haven't yet compared AC or DC voltage readings made on the DCM-043 to readings made on any of my other meters.

Good took tool to measure low currents. Recommended to test for leakage current paths in cars t on avoid battery drainage.

This meter is meant for small amp draws...not really meant for industrial use. I use mine for small household wiring and outlet troubleshooting......but it shines when using for parasitic amp draws in automobiles.

I tested the load with a resistor and power supply (I=V/R) and this unit is accurate.I purchased and tested two other cheaper meters that gave inconsistent and poor readings.

The main display does not give accurate readings at all, both AC and DC. It's funny though because when I pair it with a multimeter its pretty accurate. Works excellent for tight spaces, good for automotive use, build quality is good also.

Made of solid plastic (not cheap and thin) that has good durability. Easy to use, read-out window is good size. Bought this amp clamp to measure parasitic battery draw (in my car) because it has good accuracy in the low amperage (milliamp) range. This clamp meter was made in Taiwan and is of good quality and reasonably priced. Would recommend it to others.
