This unit has done a nice job controlling the output of a 12V high capacity pump, with apparently no ill effect on the pump from the use of this PWM controller. What was not specifically stated in the description is the fact the the two red wires have no preference as to which one is connected to the source or the motor, which made me a bit uncomfortable at first, but, since the first try didn't fry anything, I reversed them successfully for a second test. I need a way to vary the output based on an input signal. That would be marvelous!It's on my list of useful potential future project items, as needed.

I tried this on a 2000gph bilge pump and it worked fine. Instructions are a little vague but hook it up as shown in the description.

Wired it up as directed (which I had to look at several different times because the instructions made no sense) and it didn’t work. Ohmed it out and messed with the dial and no change tested it across all 4 wires in every combination and still no change. What a waste of money.

Installed this on our RV fantastic vent fan. The stock controls only have 3 speeds. Tried a PWM speed controller and it was very noisy.Only gave this 4 stars as it needed a few modifications to get it to fit.1. Modification, removal of back plate that the wires come through. This helps to give clearance to fit in the space allotted.2. Drill hole into back being careful not to hit any wires, capacitors or other components inside.3. Move grommet from back plate into the hole that was drilled and re-route wires through the grommet. (This helps to create more clearance so that everything fits.4. Connect wires like in diagram, also use the fuse to protect circuit.5. Check proper operation of the fan.This controller can't reverse the direction of the fan but it does have an off position on the dial. We just use the fan as an exhaust fan so not a big deal for us. Otherwise you could use the reversing switch that is on the Fantastic Vent but I decided not to do this.
