Seems well built, and works well so far for my application which is to control a 24vdc motor for a power feed on my milling machine. Great deal and compact size.

First one fried right away, replacement worked so I bought a third and that one would not adjust speed, just stayed at full power. Then they both stopped working. Would not recommend.

Installed this on my son's power wheels, works great, no issues so far. I ran a 40v power tool battery through it and just turned down the dial to around %30 which gets the car going pretty fast. really like the soft start and stop feature, keeps the wheels from spinning out as much.I'm thinking that most of the negative reviews on this are from people not being careful about the amperage rating. I think a trolling motor on a boat will possibly pull more amps than this is rated for and burn it up, but for a power wheels, it has more than enough rating.

Granted I went in with 0 expectations due to the cost, but I had installed one a few years back for a rear AC unit on a heavily used truck, it already outlasted the ford factory blower switch and resistor in the front and still going strong lol. I found mounting it to the back of a plastic wall plate works great and can glue the speed display to it and it will show through.Only downside is the leads are a bit short and unless you love splicing thin wires all day, have to mount it very close to the switch.

Seemed to be some kind of short between the board and the casing - you could hear something kind of clicking on and off when moving assembly around. Worked ok for first day or two and then less and less. Now barely works at all - won't come on and then will work for a minute and then not again. Only got about 20 minutes use out of it. Bad quality

I use this to power an electric bead roller. It worked great for about 20 minutes and then it started smelling funny and smoke came out of the controller. I use this to power a small winch motor that turns a bead roller. It consumes 2-6 amps. It worked great for about 20 minutes and then it started smelling funny and smoke came out of the little metal box. It still works. The readout works but the speed is no longer variable. It’s wide-open now.. I have ordered a second one should be here tomorrow, and I will install it in the same fashion and put power to the input output power to my motor. No shared ground. I added a 12 V computer fan to blow on the control unit that is mounted into an electronics box.Ok after using the unit without speed function I ordered another one, I think I shorted it out somehow installing it, so I put the old one back in and ordered a third one, well, third times a charm, it work as it should, used is of and on throughout the day, worked as it should. It’s very nice when it functions properly, slows my bead roller to a crawl. I like the LED numeric display because it’s directly related to commanded output.I know that forty is a crawl, fifty is half speed and 75 up is high then full speed. If it continues to perform, I’d certainly change my ratings to 4 stars. But the first one failed on its own. It’s perfectly installed and has a cooling fan. Only pulling 2 amps and may peak at about 6.

It worked as advertised. The only issue I had with it was that the switch and potentiometer cables are inside the casing. So in order to instal them into their final location I had to remove the shroud. It has two screws, the problem was that one of the screws also holds the board in place to the casing which made it difficult to keep the board in place, connect cables, and the keep it all together in a tight location. I ultimately ended up bending the cover.
