This pin/clip has not rusted, yet. Some of the cheaply made, save a buck, types will.So far, I'm very content with this.

The hitch we got didn't come with a ball or pins. Honda was cheaping out.Bought a pair of these to keep in the car and they seem to work well.

At today's prices this was a steal! 1/4 of the price at big box stores as well as most automotive stores! Thanks for helping the peeps on a tight budget, we still have unforeseen purchases too!

I purchased this for use with my 1 1/4" hitch receiver on my car. It is basic but exactly what is needed, the clip is solid and secures the pin enough that I'm not worried about it falling off.

It's a hitch pin for under a buck, what is there to say? Mine came with both pieces and works exactly as it is supposed to.I'm using it on a 1-1/4" hitch as that has a 1/2" pin size. 2" and 2-1/2" hitches use a 5/8" pin, which is why this pin is not long enough to work in a 2" hitch. If you towed rated capacity on a class III of higher hitch with a 1/2" pin, the pin could potentially shear and result in a catastrophic failure. Such a failure could open Curt to a huge lawsuit, so they made that impossible.

This is a hitch pin for a 1 1/4 inch receiver. It will not fit a 2 inch receiver. Small SUVs (Ford Escape for example) and cars with a hitch typically have 1 1 /4 receiver. Full size SUVs (Ford Explorer) and pick-ups typically have a 2 inch receiver. If you are looking at the 1 1/4 to 2 inch adapter (which this item is normally recommended with) you will need one of these to attach the adapter to the 1 1/4 receiver on your vehicle. You will then also need a 5/8th pin to attach what ever else you have (luggage rack / bike rack for 2" receiver) to the adapter.
