This is stronger in construction than my last pin. It holds well. The magnet is not attached to pin. t can reside either on the pin or hitch.

I originally had a king pin mechanical pin for my riding lawn mower cart and it got all rusty and stopped working when exposed to the elements. This one has been holding up great and is even easier than the other one to use. The magnet is strong enough to stay in even when jumping over maple tree roots.
