I got this so I could play Qobuz hi-res through my LG soundbar and sub by inputting ti to optical on the sound bar. Since Qobuz is not available as a smart tv app an Qobuz has a lot of things I like. My soundbar will accept 24/96 input through optical. It’s in the living room. I’m using a GLASS optical cable which costs a little more than plastic. It works great. I adjust the volume with the soundbar remote. I use Qobuz on my phone or my tablet and plug it into the usbc. It charges my phone while I play. Sound comes out of the bar, the wireless subwoofer and the rear wireless speakers. I also use Qobuz in my car and through my Sonos speaker, but that’s unrelated except that I am able to use Qobuz and my subscription and playlists more places. This is a separate thing from my tv entirely as that uses the hdmi.

This USB C/Thunderbolt adapter to Toslink port is exactly what I have been looking for to connect my powered speakers to my MacBook Pro via a DAC.I usually see this in Thunderbolt docks which are very expensive.Highly recommended!

This is a great mid adapter for the right system. Everything on my unit was sturdy and didn't at all feel like it was going to need replacing anytime soon. The signal quality is great too, very happy with the purchase.
