I wanted to use my Logitech z506 5.1 speakers with our Toshiba FireTV. The speakers only support 3.5mm inputs. I'm using the optical output from the TV to this device, then rca to 3.5mm adapters to the speakers. When the device detects 5.1 sound, the green light comes on. The sound quality is pretty good considering this device speakers and cords together are less than $100.

All of the other 5.1 decoders I saw here assume you had downstream volume control (i.e. AVR, etc). I don't but this particular device has a master volume control, controlling the combined output level of all six channels. I wanted something compact so I used this device driving three small 2-channel Class D amps with input level trims (+ a powered sub) and balanced my little man cave TV audio system using those and then had overall system control with this device's master knob. Audio quality is good, no hum or buzz and it's still doing fine, never turned off, after 2-years. Sweet. Just what I needed.

Adquirí este producto para usarlos con el logitech z607, sin embargo, él subwoofer y el parlante central no suenan, a diferencia de los demás parlantes que sí suenan, también he notado decodifican correctamente los canales
