I helped my highly arthritic shoulder when I overdid it. The only issue is that it was difficult to get it fit.

Make sure you tighten the Velcro straps. Get some one to help the first time you use it.

As pictured, my husband has said while a bit difficult to adjust it does help with the heat and massage. It may not be a long term solution if the pain does not go away.

First, let me say that I regret waiting so long to buy this! I have Fibromyalgia that often attacks my shoulders leaving me feelings like my rotator cuff has been torn and it's excruciating. For so long now I have used my back heating pad and just made due trying to wrap it around my arm, tuck it under my armpit and try not to move...which is not very fesiable. In desperation I finally decided to do research and buy a shoulder heating pad which had to be cordless so I can take it when I travel. That research brought me here to this product. I carefully read all of the reviews, even the ones about it being hard to use, and I will never regret my purchase! Also, I will help with the one issue that people seem to be having, how to use it by yourself! I will include that at the bottom of my review! The heating pad is very well made and has a variety of adjustments that allow you to tailor it to your body just the way you like it and how it will benefit you the most. The inside is lined with a velvet like material which is incredibly soft. It comes with a small extension that I am assuming is for the chest but can also be used sucessfully for the arm area. It heats very well and the battery lasts for a long time. The vibrate is soothing even though I didn't think I'd use or even like that part. It charges with a C cord, which it comes. And it is VERY, VERY portable! I love that I can use it anywhere and anytime that I want!!Alright, now, ease of use... I know some people have a hard time using this on their own but I am going to tell you how to not only set this up on your own but to easily use it on your own every single time! Yes, I am that stubborn, independant redhead that always will figure it out! =) I will say that you have to be able to use your opposite arm without complications in order to do this.Step One: Adjust where it is going to go around your upper arm. They show how to do it in a visual but that was hard so I did it BACKWARDS! You only need to adjust it at first to get the right fitting for you. Once you have it on later you can always do micro adjustments!Step Two: While it is not on your body, attach the strap that goes around your chest. Make sure that the 'back' has enough overlap so that the velcro will stick well so that it doesn't pop open. If you are very small you can adjust this in as much as you think you will need. Leave the front with just enough overlap that it doesn't pop open.Still with me? Good!Step Three: Slide your arm through the arm hole that you adjusted earlier in the correct direction. Once in place, slide your OPPOSITE arm through the chest loop and adjust that where you'd like it to be before you tighten it across your chest.Step Four: Do any small adjustments if needed for your arm. Any adjustments for the shoulder cover. And any adjustments needed for the chest strap. Voila!I think a video would be easier to show this, so I hope that I was able to explain it well enough to help people be able to use this on their own easier!

I’ve had this for almost two months and yesterday was the first time I had been able to get the darn thing on. Part of the problem is that my shoulders ache. Duh. But mostly, it is just not easy by myself. I think with help it would not be nearly as bad, but still a pain. However, I have to admit that I am old and plump, so my own build is part of the problem. The heat is wonderful. I suffer from arthritis and the warmth eases the ache considerably, but that is all this does for me. The massage function does not function. It sort of wobbles and does not reach deep into my shoulder. It would be nice that I did not have to plug the thing in, except the control panel is located so poorly that I cannot see it to adjust it. I can reach it easily enough, but then I can only make an adjustment by luck.I am giving it two stars instead of one, because my build is not the fault of the machine and the heat does feel good. Even so, two stars was generous. Had I reviewed it yesterday, right after getting it on and off, I might have given it only one.
