Due to my shoulder pain, I was looking for something that would hold my arm close to me, especially while sleeping. And this helps a lot.

Good quality and comfortable to wear

Surgeon gave me a regular sling that put undue pressure on my neck, causing worse pain in my neck and upper back than I was feeling from the shoulder surgery. This sling did the trick. Adjustable, breathable, comfortable! Easy to leave on and take out your wrist or arm as needed and then slip back on. The band is rather wide which makes a look when you have anything but a trim top on (but it is not at all visible on zoom). Worth it nonetheless! So much more comfortable than a traditional sling and supports even better.

I sleep like a mess with my arm under my pillow - injured my shoulder and was waking up several times a night in pain and by morning my shoulder felt like pure agony. Sleeping was making my shoulder worse. What's good about this us you can wear it loose while still keeping your arm down. Not going to lie, not easy to sleep with it because of my bad habit, but in the morning the pain was so much less it's worth it. Wearing it looser, it didn't get sweaty and wasn't uncomfortable like others I tried. Did the job and after several weeks pain has subsided to the point that I don't wear it anymore.

My husband has EDS and was unable to find a brace that worked as well as this for his shoulder for years. I found this for him when he said the biggest problem he had was that his shoulder can dislocate both inward and outward. Most shoulder dislocations are when it pops out, so most braces put pressure inward and he can't wear that because it'll start to push the ball out of the socket in the shoulder joint. The few braces made for the other direction of dislocation have the opposite problem. This is the first brace he'll actually wear regularly after a dislocation and it does exactly what it says -- completely immobilizes. The pressure in and out is equal so he does not feel it pushes the joint in either direction.I also appreciate it being made in such a large size. Most braces that I could find of either type would not have been large enough to go around his chest. Most other braces were a bit flimsy looking as well. This is very sturdy and has held up very well so far.

My wife broke her shoulder and this did a great job so she could keep it immobilized to heal.

It made the pain in my broken shoulder much worse. May work better for others. Not for me

I have a frozen shoulder and not a busted arm. I didn't need something with a hand sling, but I got this one anyway. This was my 5th shoulder-type purchase and I will not return it. This is perfect for sleeping & driving; keeps my arm from sudden movement. I was not sleeping until this strap. The woman in the photo has the velcro strap under her breasts and that's not really possible. You gotta strap across for the arm to sit straight down (a man is flat chested, of course), but it's NOT cumbersome to do so. The arm velcro strap can scratch IF you don't close it right. It will not pinch the crook of your arm if it's in the right spot (hence what I just said about where the chest strap is set). You are in pain and everything fng hurts, but I highly recommend this strap to help get thru it.

My husband does not have a shoulder problem per se but rather a neck problem. He has herniated discs, chronic tendinosis, and chronic migraines which are greatly exacerbated by his sleeping position. He has a wandering arm which he flings up over his head while he sleeps, and he then wakes up in severe pain. After trying numerous things to get him to stop doing this in his sleep or to get relief some other way, we tried this. It works great. He feels silly strapping it on every night but it has really helped his neck. It is adjustable in every dimension with Velcro. Probably it will will get old and worn and the Velcro won’t work after while, but so far so good, and it was cheap and we can buy another later when necessary. It has been 1-2 months of nightly use. It does unfortunately contribute to a bit of a heat rash on his belly, but that is improving with talcum powder use and is not a deal-breaker.

This was replacing the cheap mesh sling the ER provided for a dislocated shoulder. It's definitely more comfortable, easier to put on, and allows use of the forearm/hand. It is NOT good for sleeping because it's too stretchy at the bicep and the Velcro is easily undone when you're half asleep trying to get comfortable in bed. Have woken a few times with the chest band completely undone or slid up allowing my bad arm to be extended up way too high. Works fine when you're awake as a reminder of your injury.
