Had my doubts that it could remove some hardened deposits without scratching. But it worked very nicely. With hard deposits, just use a light touch and do it a number of times, over a number of days, to avoid scratches. Clean off the rubber-like blade very often, like every run across the surface, to avoid that stray piece of sand causing damage. Fresh soft algae is easy peasy cleaning.

This is much better than those long handled ones. Your hand does get wet but it scrapes algae well.

its jsut to small for my tank and handle is to short for getting into tight spots. my reef has a few corals that have grown to close to the front and not i need a new scraper as i cant clean there without braking corals.

I bought this for a freshwater tank that I had trouble cleaning with other scrapers, this one is well molded, no notches or defects in the plastic blade. The small size allows me to get in the tough to reach corners.
