Nice product, works well. It's a bit bigger/heavier than I anticipated based on the pictures - not something for backpacking but a great addition to any other tent setup.

I was honestly surprised by how well this plastic camping mallet performed! At first, I was skeptical since I’ve always believed that a mallet needs to be heavy to get the job done, but this lightweight design proved me wrong. The plastic construction cuts down significantly on the weight, which is a huge bonus when packing for camping trips, yet it still functions incredibly well when driving tent stakes into the ground.One feature that really impressed me is the handle, which has circular cutouts that serve a dual purpose. Solid chunk of plastic to pound in tent pegs. Feels good in the hand, love the holes in the handle to reduce overall weight while still packing a punch. The holes also allow for a great place to grab the tent pegs to yank them back out.

Great for backpacking. It is light weight enough to just strap to your backpack with a carabiner. Managed to drive metal stakes into very hard ground.

Aus den Angaben bei Amazon geht es, zumindest zur Zeit, nicht hervor: Das Ding ist riesig. Grifflänge über 30 cm, Hammerkopf so groß wie ein großer Trinkbecher (Durchmesser ca. 5 cm). Wer sein Zelt im Gebirge oder auf einer langen Trekkingtour in hartem Boden verankern will und lieber einen Hammer als Steine nehmen würde, ist hier falsch - viel zu sperrig.Warum man als Autocamper ein solches Ding anstatt eines normalen Hammers mitnehmen würde, wo doch das Gewicht dann keine Rolle spielt, erschließt sich mir auch nicht so recht. Ein Zelthammer ohne Zielgruppe? Es hat den Anschein.

This is the second one we have purchased. Great for pounding in tent pegs or pegs for the camping mat. Lightweight and sturdy. We still have the first one we purchased years ago and still use it, that is, when our 5 year old grandson isn't sneaking off with it on his own mission, or wanting to help pound pegs during set up.....so we bought the second one for him. He loves it!

The other reviews are accurate - this is a great mallet. And the holes give you something to use as leverage for removing pegs.I like it a lot. And it won't scratch the other things I have in my bag.

When I looked at this on Amazon I mistakenly assumed it was a rubber tent peg mallet. When it arrived I was surprised to see that it was a hard plastic. I decided to keep it and try it out. A camping friend laughed and said it wouldn't work, that I should have bought a rubber one. Well I tried it out and was amazed at how great it works. Now my friend wants one too. As a 67 female with little grip strengh and , rheumatoud arthritis I couldn't be happier because this mallet is very light weight yet works so well. I use this for my Clam screened room with yellow tent stakes when camping or at the beach.
