Surprisingly good hammer. It has sand in it ( for heft?). Does not damage walls if you are a klutz like me. Recommended.

Nice weighted mallet for carving.

This is a nice club for carving, hammering something loose, anything that is not too hard or sharp. It’s so comfortable and balanced that I would carry it around with me but that would look weird in mixed company.

Wood mallet is well made with hard wood handle. Not used yet, but know this will work just fine for all wood carving needs. Handle finish is a little ruff, but that provides a positive grip.

For a non-woodworker, this is a great value & quality mallet. The green rubber-like sleeve provides grip and damage protection. This is a winner.

Firstly, well done Amazon. 7 days, Monday to Monday, New Jersey to East Yorkshire. Wish Royal Mail were that switched on.The mallet is just right, I’ve got the 20oz version from the “other” brand, which is equally good, but sometimes a bit much. I think the 12oz version would be a bit light. As for the people that have complained on other listings of the same product, about the handle not being sanded well enough, when mine arrived I was expecting it to be like an old gate post. Yes, it’s not been sanded to 400 grit, but so what, you’re meant to be a woodworker, so do some woodwork. You’ve only bought it because it was cheaper that the equivalent Wood Is Good version, same as the rest of us, 30 seconds and a bit of 240 grit paper and you’re done.

It works well and is well made. I really do NOT like the swirly pattern on the urethane. Can't they make it uniform? It's like they have a flawed manufacturing process. The injection mold point is also very noticeable. Couldn't they polish it off?
