Installed easily just make sure you insert the plug until it clicks. Works great and now have a full bin of ice.

This was easy to install even with the dinner instructions. I took the old I've maker out and paid close attention to everything so I could put it back the correct way.I saw a review about the instructions leaving out the part where you have to cut a U shape at the water inlet. They must have corrected that because my instructions had that.My only complaint is that the arm that's supposed to turn it off and in has no friction. It doesn't click into place when you want to turn it off. So far it hasn't turned off and my ice pan has been overflowing the past two days. I pushed the arm up as high as it will go this morning. We'll see if that fixes it.Update: it's been a few days since my initial review and no change. The machine stopped making ice momentarily, but it's been to overflowing my tray. I have the arm as high as it will go and no change. My only option is to turn off the water supply.

3 days in and it’s working as it should. Replacement part is exactly as the original. No issues so far. Actually makes ice a little quicker than the old one.UPDATE: after 2 weeks the steel arm began to stick after ice was dispensed. Quite annoying. Going to try to return it.

I have an older Whirlpool side by side fridge.The ice maker didn't work when I bought my place, and I instead used a standalone ice maker....until it broke.After getting this, the install took probably 30 mins (would be less, if not for the confined work area)Once I got it hooked up and let it run for about a day, the ice bucket was about 1/2 full, so I tossed that batch then waited for it to fill up, and tossed that batch as well. Once it fills up completely (about 3-4 days) it's great, and we haven't run out of ice at all, even with four people constantly using it.A few tips:• Ensure your freezer runs at 0 to -10 degrees for faster ice production, and that the air deflector is positioned properly.• Be patient, especially at first as it does take some time to make the ice.• I had to switch the control arm from my old unit. This one seems a tad too short and my ice started to overflow.• They say to throw away the first couple of ice drop batches, but I still had a weird flavor so I did a full bucket and after that all was well.
