I had this installed on my home meter box for a generator hook up for the house. When hit with storms, it's not unusual to lose power for several days here in Florida. It's miserable with no air conditioning, so we bought this and a new large generator and everything works perfectly. This was also half the price that other retailers charge for the same thing.

This has a metal case which seems to be well constructed. Comes with plastic wall anchors and mounting screws. Easily connect and lock a NEMA approved generator power cord without difficulty. The cover snaps (locks) in place when in closed position to prevent accidental opening. When open it will stay up without falling down while inserting power cord.

Very sturdy construction, crisp closure, has a light on the cap to let you know that it is delivering power.

I received and installed this box yesterday. It appears to be a high quality product with a good finish. Two issues that the buyer needs to be aware of before ordering. The removable plugs are a quality product and should preclude water intrusion. The holes are not large to allow installation of a 1" PVC male fitting. Easily rectified with a little Dremel work. The second issue is the area for wiring behind the plug. I installed three 6 AWG wires and had a devil of a time getting the cover screwed back in place. 6 AWG does not bend easily and the space was really tight. Perhaps a little manipulation to install bends in the wire would have made installation easier, but I got it done anyway. Just be aware that it is a little bit hard to close.
