I’m homeschooling two littles and I found these for first timers, they are excellent to teach them how to cut! Definitely recommend!!

These are great tools for young children trying to master scissors. Once they have the hang of it, you can just flip up the spring and use them as regular scissors.

It’s the perfect pair of scissors for toddlers just learning to use scissors. The fact that it’s sharp enough to cut paper but not fingers.#Chef’skiss

My 2 year old loves them and so do I. They don’t cut anything but paper and are very safe.

So, I think these are great kids scissors. They are functional without being TOO sharp, but I don’t know that I would put the age for use at 3-5. My son is 3 and I ordered these in the hopes of working on strengthening his fine motor skills, but the sizing is a bit too large for his hands. It was challenging for him to use them, not just because it’s a new skill, but because they were a bit too large for his hands to grip. These would probably be great for kindergarten, first or second grade, but if you’re looking for something for 3/4 year olds, these might not work for you.
