These shares are awesome! Love the holster and the ability to fold them down when not needed. Works really great with a belt.

Solid, a little heavy. Shears are thick. Works well.Plastic scabbard is too big to use.

We do a good bit of traveling to remote areas of the world and one thing we always pack is a well supplied first aid kit. We first approached this buy buying a ready made kit that was boldly marked as first aid kit so as to not be unnecessarily hassled by TSA, one can dream can’t they, or customs in other countries. The ready packed kit had some deficiencies that were obvious from the get go and some that were not so obvious. The included scissors were one of the not so obvious ones until we needed a decent pair of scissors on the Amazon River in Peru. My trusty knife that is always on my person saved the day but scissors would have been the better tool in that instance.Enter this great pair of scissors. These fold up compactly so they don’t take up much room but quickly deploy when needed. The handy case included makes them handy for the first responders among us, thanks guys, to wear on their belts but serve to protect the tool until needed in our case. These scissors do more than just shear and all of the functions are covered well above in the add so I won’t rehash all of that. They are sharp and cut very well. They are comfortable for use and look nice. They can be easily separated for resharpening if needed. Our lime green handled pair now resides in our first aid kit that gets unpacked and pulls double duty while home. The old ones went in the trash since they were useless. Good riddance. These type of scissors sell for considerably more when branded and I have not been able to compare them side by side but for our occasional use they will be fine. They seem like a good value for the money to me.

These shears are a beast. They are heavy duty and cut very well. They are quite stiff but I'm sure that will get better over time with some use. The holster is good, but is a little confusing to use at first since it's not so clear cut as to how they fit in it. The one thing that blew me away about these is how large they are. They are a good size, and for my big hands, they are great, even almost a little too big, however they are lightweight. The holster stays on your belt very well and is even a little difficult to take off. It's easier to just take it off when you take off your belt. These so far seems they would cut through anything.

We all know what name brand trauma shears these are a copy of. To their credit, this is a very faithful reproduction, basically identical in design and dimensions. In the pictures, the blue-handled shears are the original, which I purchased almost three years ago at a much higher price even at that time. These knockoff shears match so well that even the utility holsters are interchangeable with no discernible play. The only differences I see on these shears are a bit shinier sheen to the metal finish, very slightly coarser blade grind, and the lack of a certain name stamped on the blade. One admitted unknown here is steel quality. The ad lists 420HC stainless, which is the same steel type as the name brand, but I have no way to confirm that is actually true or that the heat treatment is as good. What I can say is that so far they have cut everything I have thrown at them just as effectively as the originals, with no sign of edge damage. Time will tell regarding edge retention, resistance to rust, ease of sharpening, etc.For my occasional volunteer use, I have no concerns with carrying these shears on one of my specialized rescue packs, though I will keep the name brand shears on my primary SAR pack. These things have performed flawlessly so far, and I believe they will continue to do so. For paid first responders who use and rely on trauma shears daily it’s probably wise to invest in the proven name brand and their 25-year warranty. For the rest of us, this is a very solid and affordable option, and far better than the cheap stamped metal shears that come in many IFAKs.

The switch on the closing mechanism doesn’t automatically latch so they don’t open quickly in emergency settings.

A good pair of scissors is a wonderful thing. These are heavy-gauge steel with handy features that can live on a belt unobtrusively. This pricing makes it available to all.
