The claim that this fabric can withstand 1800 degrees or a welding flame is false. When the fabric was exposed to a 600 degree gas fireplace it started smoking thick, smoke with a strong chemical smell. It was about to flame. We got it outside where it continued to smolder. We had to soak it in water to put it out. This product needs a new description and photos or should be taken off the market

I needed a new koozie for a cup I cook in and drink from when I backpack. This is soft like felt, easy to shape, and simple to cut and stitch fabric that worked perfectly. I tested a cutoff piece over the flames of my stove. It gave off a few tiny embers that quickly dropped away and died, but it never caught fire, and it was cool enough to handle within seconds after being pulled from the flame. It's a vast improvement over the silver bubble wrap and foil tape koozie I used before. I would recommend to a friend and buy again if needed.

Tried this to wipe soldering tip.It coats the tip with something so nothing beats old jeans i guess. But otherwise as a heat barrier its good.

I use this product when performing minor cutting, welding and soldering. Works perfect and most importantly protects my work bench counter top.

I was so satisfied with the ones I bought, over a year ago, that bought them again.
