I used this to extend the joystick port on an old apple iigs computer for easy access to change joysticks.. It works great for that purpose.

I never used the gearshift for my Logitech G27 steering wheel because I would have to remove the wheel from my Wheelstand Pro each time I wanted to attach it. The gearshift is normally mounted to my chair and there's no way to mount it on the stand (the stand was made for the Driving Force GT). When folding up my Wheelstand, the wheel remains attached, but the gearshift is too bulky to tuck away. Now, I'm able to detach the gearshift and put it away separately. I was able to use this cable to extend the serial port to the back of the wheel so that I can attach my gearshift with ease when playing compatible games.It was a tight fit and the cable is thicker than the standard wheel cables, but I was able to cleanly route the cable underneath the wheel, and force it into the wheel's cable guide with no functionality concerns. The adapter was just long enough to reach out the back without any excess cable dangling when the gearshift is not in use.

The two cables cost little and arrived on time. They work as hoped in my application which requires a connection to a portable seismometer operating at 9600 baud.

This product works. Using it continuously (24/7/365) currently without issue between a serial device and a usb to serial converter (IOGEAR GUC232A).

Would be one star, but it may have been a problem on my end while re-arranging and re-wiring my home system, but this cable did not send any signal whatsoever.Gave up after an hour trying, and used my old cable (to test) and it works just fine ... it is too short and runs across the room, but at least my old cable works for the short term.Very disappointed and frustrated.
