Worked great; I used to connect a PC to a Daktronics All Sport 5000 controller. I had to grind off the female connectors because the controller already had female connectors but otherwise worked perfect!

I work within the controls industry and often have to connect to controllers via USB etc and often travel to sites on foot so space-saving in the bag is key. As there are so many methods of connecting to controllers I use adaptors like this to save space and ensure I have the right connection for engineering a device. It also can be used for charging devices.

Needed it to change from Micro to type B USB and worked perfectly to power a dashcam with my hardwire kit. Kept me from having to run a new power line from the fuse block. Does not work for data but I only need it to carry power and that is fine for this application.

Satisfied our need of connecting a very dated Magic Box - 20 years old (Embroidery Card Writer/Reader) purchased in South Africa to a very modern computer system purchased in Canada, everything communicated to each other just fine - miracles will never cease.

The photo shows the problem but the description implies something different. The DB25 connector studs are not removable and this means that you can't just plug it into the serial port (DB25 female) directly. You must also purchase another cable that is the "go-between" this product's DB25 and whatever you were planning on using this for. Unless you have a non-standard DTE device, a standard device is expecting you to plug in a male DB25 male and to tighten the two side screws to hold it in place. This product, instead, had two female "nuts" and so will not mate directly to the DTE. And, since these female "nuts" on this male DB25 are not removable, you MUST buy another cable with a female DB25 on one end and a male DB25 on the other. In theory, another solution is to use an adapter but there is no reason to manufacture an adapter that doesn't "change" anything except for the "nuts" and screws. The bottom line is to carefully check the DTE (Data Terminal Equipment) you plan on connecting to this DB25. See if those female-threaded "nuts" that extend on either side of this connector shell will not conflict with the existing 1/4"-long hardware on the DTE that you're plugging this into. Removing the "nuts" in the photo would help but I couldn't get them out because you'd have to break open the connector to grip the opposite end for torque. This whole frustration could be avoided if the Amazon product description would include the same instruction that the installation notes emphasize. Unfortunately, the Amazon description omits the critical need for the additional cable."Just connect your computer's or hub's USB port with a digital camera, modem, ISDN-TA modem, barcode reader, Palm III and V, tablet, label writer, fingerprint verification, security system, POS equipment or any of your favorite serial devices."This IS NOT possible. As the installation instructions mention AFTER you have the product and are wanting to install it, YOU MUST HAVE AN ADDITIONAL CABLE between this device and your serial device. You CANNOT do what it states: "Just connect your computer's or hub's USB... favorite serial devices." Generally, yes, IF you just happen to have a double-ended DB25 cable with a female on one end and a male on the other. Do you? I didn't so I'll have to order one and wait another delivery cycle. This is the reason for the 3-star rating. So, hopefully I have helped you to head-up this issue and have both items when you're ready to use this product as delivered.

I was really hoping this adapter ($80ish) would work because it claimed to deliver up to 2560x1600 by HDMI. StarTech's HDMI version only went up to 1920x1080 - you have to buy StarTech's DisplayPort version ($95ish)to get up to 2560x1600. First I ordered StarTech's model and then I ordered C2G after I saw that it was cheaper. So I ended up ordering both and I'm sorry to say that this adapter did not work.I recently bought 2 LG 29EA73 ultra wide 21:9 monitors with 2560x1080 res. I connected one monitor via the HDMI port on my laptop and I needed an adapter to connect the second monitor via the USB 3.0 port. For some reason, this adapter did not work. The weird thing is, that both this adapter and StarTech use DisplayLink Corp's technology so they should be similar right? I installed the drivers from the CD, then via plug and play, and then through DisplayLink's website. Nothing worked! My secondary monitor would not get recognized by my computer. Then I tried the StarTech's version via DisplayPort. It worked! This is my initial review and I plan on calling C2G to ask why it didn't work.

I bought this cable to interface my new Windows Vista PC to my old Garmin GPS-V. So far, so good. The installation was easy. No need to load any drivers from the supplied CD...just connect the cable to a free USB port on the computer and Vista finds and installs the necessary drivers.I haven't had any problems yet loading maps from MapSource to my GPS device. The serial port was mapped to COM4.Would have been nice if the cable had a pair of indicators for Tx/Rx activity but all-in-all a very good product for the price.
