Originally I thought this was crap and it didn’t work. I was going to send it back as was very dissatisfied with it. I literally thought I have been scammed but now think maybe the bulbs take awhile to break in or something but it’s zapping the little flying bastards all the time now and I am very happy with it.It’s loud and occasionally catches me, the mrs and the kids off guard and makes us jump but it’s a very rewarding sound especially as for a week or so it didn’t do a bloody thing.If you get one, give it time to break in. I was literally taking the zapper to the flys and they weren’t attracted to it. Left it on overnight and still nothing. Now it’s getting them in the daylight in what is a well lit kitchen all the time.I haven’t yet cleaned it which sounds gross, but I think having a death pit of flys may also be attracting the others. When I clean it. I may have to retain some of the juicy ones to attract more in the future.It’s one of the better looking zappers which is why I bought it however still wouldn’t want it on display. I put it high up above the kitchen unit and can only see it when it’s on because of the bright blue light.

Ich habe dieses Gerät von Amazon zum testen zur Verfügung gestellt bekommen.Ich teste aktuell im Rahmen der Vine Tests diverse solcher Geräte mit 230V oder auch Akku.Dieses Gerät arbeitet mit 2 Leuchtstoffröhren, die ein Lila Licht in einer Wellenlänge aussenden, die Insekten anziehen soll. Das Gerät arbeitet Geräuschfrei solange kein Insekt "bearbeitet" wird.Da gibt es dann ein Lautes Entladungsgeräusch, ein BRIZZZZZ, das Systembedingt ist.Die Funktion ist gegeben, das Gerät bekämpft Mücken und sogar kleine Motten ganz gut, solange diese durch das Äußere Schutzgitter passen.Dieses Schutzgitter verhindert ein ungewolltes Berühren des Inneren Hochspannung Gitter.Katzen oder Hundepfoten sollten da nicht durchpassen, bei kleinen Kindern sollte so ein Gerät nicht in Reichweite und ohne Aufsicht betrieben werden.Das Gehäuse besteht aus einem Grauen Kunststoff und ist etwas im Stiel von Kofferradios der 50/60er Jahre gehalten. Ich finde das schön.Das Gerät hat keinen Akku, kann also nur mit 230V betrieben werden.Der Schalter trennt das Netz, es ist kein Taster.Das 230V Anschlusskabel empfinde ich als zu kurz, das dürfte gerne doppelt so Lang ausfallen.Schön ist auch, das 2 Ersatzröhren dabei sind.Eine Anleitung ist auch vorhanden die die wichtigsten Dinge erklärt.

We have a dog that needs to go out the front door several times to do his business, it is under a porch and it seems in all kinds of weather to gather as many kind of bugs. As you can imagine. It is hard to keep them out of the house as the dog takes his time getting in! I purchased this bug zapper and I cannot believe how often it zaps! It has really controlled the bugs and I think some of them have learned to stay away from the porch area! It can be busy at times and the snapping is loud. But if you place it in an area where it won't be right next to the house, it's just fine, easy to clean up dead bugs afterwards, easy to clean the unit every so often, lightweight, and adds a nice glow from the blue light. For the price it was, it is an excellent little unit. I would highly recommend if you have a very buggy area!

The bug zapper is effective, but it has some design flaws. The shock grille only covers one side of the bulbs, so when larger bugs approach from the unprotected side, they can get trapped in the narrow gap between the bulb and grille (despite the grille being slightly bent to add space). This causes bugs to get stuck and trigger 10-50 loud shocks in a row, which is quite bothersome.Adding a straight vertical grid on both sides of the bulbs would improve the design and help avoid this issue.Given the range, I would also like to be able to use this outside, so adding the necessary protection for outdoor would be beneficial.Overall, it works well, but a design upgrade would make it even better.

I have flies in my shop all winter. Thousands of them. I recently installed a projector and they're all over the screen and lens. Installed this, put on a wifi plug, scheduled to run at night. Killed hundred first night. No more flies in shop this winter.
