I recently purchased this indoor bug zapper, and I’m genuinely impressed with its performance. It’s sleek, compact, and fits perfectly in any room without being an eyesore. The UV light is strong enough to attract all kinds of pesky bugs—mosquitoes, gnats, flies—you name it!What I love most is how quiet it is. Unlike traditional zappers that make loud, startling noises, this one operates with minimal sound, making it perfect for bedrooms or living spaces. The collection tray is easy to remove and clean, which adds to the hassle-free experience.Since using it, I’ve noticed a significant drop in the number of bugs around, especially during the evenings. It’s energy-efficient, safe to use around kids and pets (as long as it’s kept out of reach), and requires no harmful chemicals. If you’re tired of dealing with indoor bugs, this zapper is a game-changer. Highly effective, low-maintenance, and worth every penny!5 stars!

Setting it up is incredibly easy, and its portability is a game-changer. Since it runs on a battery, I can place it wherever I need: at home, during camping trips, or even in the park. It’s lightweight, and repositioning it is hassle-free.What really sold me was the effectiveness. The zap sounds are not only convincing but also oddly satisfying, providing immediate confirmation that it’s working. I’ve noticed a significant drop in the number of bugs around, making outdoor activities much more enjoyable.

Effective, portable and practical. Its rechargeable and solar design makes it perfect for indoors and outdoors. It eliminates mosquitoes instantly and the reading lamp is a great plus. Totally recommended!

Here is the thing: I want to like this bug zapper SO MUCH. This is my second try with this unit. It is a great size, offers so many conveniences, and is at a reasonable price point. The first one worked so great on Night #1, bugs were attracted to it, and I was hearing the satisfying snap. Night #2 was slightly more humid, had charged in bright sunlight for at least 8 hours, I turned the unit on, went into the house, came out, and it had turned itself out. I tried to turn it back on and it immediately went off. I returned it and requested exact replacement. Again, very excited. I charged this unit all day in full sun. Night #1: Tried turning it on for a few minutes, it came on, and attracted and killed a few flying insects. I then turned it off and stored it on a garage shelf for one day. The next day, I turned the zapper on at dusk with the intent of not getting bitten by mosquitoes as I was trimming my shrubs. The zapper light came on, but it was not attracting the mosquitoes that were eating me alive! I must have 20 bites. I tried moving the unit closer to me, further away, up near my head, down near feet, nothing was working. I gave up and went into the house, but left the zapper turned on at my front porch to test it out in complete darkness. I didn’t hear any zapping, and the unit turned itself off within 2 hours. I am going to have to Return this thing for a refund. If it won’t attract insects, and won’t stay on more than 2 hours, I should just buy another camping lantern.

The Kiies Solar Bug Zapper is a light-weight, compact and sturdy device to control flying insects indoors and out. We tested it for several days in early Spring. After the first full charge we monitored it operating in bug-kill mode for more than 5 hours. The Zapper eventually turned itself off to avoid damaging the battery while we weren't watching but it still had power when we switched it back on, so we aren't sure yet how long the 4000mAH battery will last after a few charge-discharge cycles.Having the built-in solar panel to top off the battery charge is a great feature when away from other power sources. Even when bugs aren't bad it works well as a battery-powered source of illumination. It would be really great to have this bug zapper and reading light after a hurricane! We plan to use it on our porch with not-so-perfect screening and while sitting outdoors in the evening. Like a 60's "black light" it makes some things glow in the dark which is kind of fun!The instructions are good and the switches to turn on the reading light and set the lighting level and for the zapper are easy to use. It has an LED that indicates when it is charging and fully-charged.We haven't left it out in the rain to test the water-resistance. It makes a loud pop when a bug meets its end.The high-voltage wires are very well protected but Judy did get a jolt while she was carrying it searching for mosquitos with the zapper on. She thinks it arced to the keys in her pants pocket so it may be able to work on bugs by static discharge like the shock you get when touching a door knob in winter. It is very powerful! Best not to carry it around with the zapper turned on!
