Live in a house built in the 50’s. had trouble trying to find a compatible fan in local stores, Home, Depot, Rona, Lowes etc…. This fit perfectly, we haven’t had a bathroom fan this quite since we bought the house!

This was a direct bolt on replacement for an older Nutone fan motor that probably dates back to the late 1970s or early 1980s. I like that it's an open design so it pulls air up through the fan instead of having to pull it around, which I believe makes it much more efficient. It decreaes the humidity level in my bathroom much more quickly than the old fan, but it's definitly not quiet. It's relatively easy to install with some basic tools and mechanical knowledge. After installing this I'm seeing a 20% humidity drop after a shower in about half the time as I used to have with my old fan. As long as you're sure this fan will work with your unit I'd recommend it.

I had a dead motor in my powder room fan and found this part listed as compatible with my Broan. The motor is a perfect fit and aligned with the screw holes. Sound is nice and quiet and draws air out easy.

Unfortunately the receptacle was shot, but this product worked just fine. I plugged it into the wall and it worked like a charm. If you have any kind of mechanical inclination, installing this should be easy for you.

The fan that came with the Braun fantasy quiet but had to run for 20 -30 minutes to clear objectionable odors. The trade-off with this more powerful replacement fan has been more noise accompanied with massive air movement. So the fan now clears orders in 5 minutes or so. And the fit is perfect and the swap was quick.

That being said, OEM would also be more expensive. Fan motor came package well in a cellophane wrapped box. When opened, i notice that the plastic fan was missing a piece and cracked. It must of got broke during shipping since i found the broken piece in the box. The fan itself is very flimsy and cheap. So instead of returning the product, I replaced it with my old much stronger fan blade. When I installed and turned it on, the fan blade was hitting a part of the ductwork. I removed it again, used a rubber mallet to punch it down on the shaft an 1/8" more and then filed the shaft so it was flush. So the shaft was a little longer. Works perfect. now.. Noise level was about the same as before. I like a little fan noise anyway in the bathroom :-) If your not handy, I would spend the cash to get the OEM one. This fan motor replaced a Nutone 763RL.

I have a Nutone 663FL fan, and the old motor (marked Jakel j239-050-5045) had a slightly shorter shaft than this motor (see 1st picture). But this one still fits, as long as you get the fan all the way on the shaft (2nd picture). It's extremely tight as others have said. I used a drill bit slightly smaller than the shaft and worked it around to enlarge the hole in the fan, which helped. This probably wasn't necessary, but I also enlarged the hole in the other end of the fan to let the shaft come all the way through (3rd picture). This lets the fan sit closer to the motor, like in the original. This came with plain nuts - you should use something to keep them from loosening under vibration. I reused the K-lock nuts that were on the fan. Nylon lock nuts, split washers, or blue threadlocker are also good options.Performance and noise seem similar to the original - maybe a bit louder.
