I've tried half a dozen thumb rests for the Fujifilm X30 and this is by the far the best of the lot. It nearly seems as if it was designed specifically for the camera. The thumb rest portion extends to within just a few millimeters of the side of the camera for maximum leverage. The bulbous end doesn't catch on the edges of my camera bag as easily as others. It's comfortable and holds my thumb securely, unlike some designs that allow my thumb to slide off too easily. The only camera control it interferes with is the exposure compensation dial, but this will be true of any thumb rest made for this camera. Initially, I was skeptical of the black color for my chrome X30, but it actually looks better than the chrome thumb rest because it appears almost as a natural extension of the viewfinder, which is only a couple millimeters away (on the X10 or X20, I suspect it would be better to match colors). The finish quality is very good. It has relatively smooth edges and just enough texture elsewhere for good grip.If I could improve anything, it would be the slightly loose fit. It doesn't fall out on its own, but it could be a little tighter. Still, better too loose than than too tight. Tight fitting thumb rests can't be removed quickly, but loose fits can be adjusted with a piece of electrical tape on the underside.
