Works well making my EOS R8 fit my enormous hands. Installation was simple, and so far I've not had any reason not to recommend it, save for the price. $80 for what amounts to a hunk of plastic and metal is absurd, but I guess that's the Canon tax for ya.

Well made and just the right size for keeping your whole hand on the camera instead of dropping a pinkie off the bottom. Easy access to battery and memory card. Also helps for me to get the clearance I need for one of my more expensive tripod heads.

we had just bought our first mirrorless camera and while it didn’t have a place to put our pinky. This did the job! We really don’t need a double battery pack for a full grip size so this really met the needs and was light enough we barely noticed any weight to the camera. we’ve enjoyed this purchase

I bought a Canon R8 and it’s a little smaller than I'm used to. I’m a big guy with big hands, and not that the R8 isn’t useable (it is, I used to have an SL2 which was similar size), but I picked this grip extender up for two reasons.First off, it is more comfortable to hold, 100%. It brings the height up to the same as a standard DSLR (it’s comparable to my Canon 90d). It feels good in the hand, much more natural. The quality is great and it fits the camera like a glove. The second reason is both aesthetics and functionality. The R8 is basically an R6mkii in a smaller package, but I feel like it looks a little more like a serious camera with the extender. It’s counter-intuitive, but let’s face it, people see bigger and think more expensive therefor more pro. However, It’s not all about the vanity of it, it’s also practical. I thought about getting a battery grip that would hold two batteries, and if I bought third party it would be less money for a “better” grip. The issue with that is the SD card shares the battery slot, I’d have to take a battery grip off anytime I wanted to swap cards. And 3rd party gear is VERY hit or miss. But this extender has its own battery hatch allowing for it to be a permanent fixture and allow full functionality.Yes, this grip extender IS overpriced. $70 feels expensive to make your camera a little taller. And I can’t believe a 3rd party hasn’t conquered this need yet. That being said, I do not regret the purchase and I think if you have the smaller Canon R cameras, it’s worth biting the bullet and getting one of these.

A nice grip extension for RP and give space for my pinky to grip on the body, I definitely love the turning lock lever battery door, and it feels grip and secure than your normal battery door, just like a 1Dx series door.

It does make this amazing little camera easier to hold and use. Very well made, you can feel the quality. A fair price for such a device.

This is a good extension that makes the body look and feel less like a toy. I didn't particularly like paying $80 for it but, the build quality and appearance are nice.

I hate that i even had to purchase this. I almost felt they should have just make the camera a little taller. However it's a great little piece that I'm glad is only modular. I put in on when taking photos. it allows me to grip like any pro dslr. When shooting video this comes off and i'm usually cradleing the camera by the lens and this extension gets in the way. theres a little whether sealing for some reason. nice touch. comes on and off in about 6 seconds. It ought to cost 50$ . It's missing a place to hold the removed battery door like all other canon battery grips provide. Still gets 5 stars
