It's everything that was described. I bought this because of the perch & just the mesh all around. No plastic covering.Just a huge red flag on safety ~ one of the food dish has metal that was not polished or removed. This is an unnecessary work for me.* I got this for my cockatiel. I read one review where he shared his concerns regarding the size of the holes. I can resonate with that. Specially, if we're walking & I have her on my back. Hopefully, she'll not poke her head out. Goodluck to us 😉

We had to transport our parakeet for 2600 miles by car, and this carrier was excellent, both in the car and in hotels. The bird was very content and the flaps on the sides and front helped us protect him from direct streams of cold air from air conditioning in the car and hotel rooms. The only modification I made was to place his regular food and water cups inside the cups that are provided with the carrier. This made it easier to take the food and water cups out for cleaning and refilling. I highly recommend this carrier.

It is spacious enough for my Pineapple Conure and he enjoys being in it. It includes food and water bowls that screw on the sides along with a perch that also screws on to the sides. The bottom tray is very easy to remove and very easy to clean.The bag itself feels very high quality. It is well-made. I appreciate the double zippers on all openings which give the option to open the bag from top or bottom.I love that it is all around mesh which provides great ventilation, with an option to cover all the sides, if needed. Even with covering the sides, there's about an inch of mesh at the top (on both ends) that is still uncovered, along with ventilation holes at the top and bottom front to still provide adequate ventilation.The mesh allows my conure to grasp on(as he also does on his cage's bars) with ease and comfort. He can climb up, down, side-to-side, without any fear or worry of tearing it. I am impressed with the mesh's quality and strength.All around GREAT quality.I would just recommend not placing the toy provided because my conure was able to take it apart in no time. If you'd like to place a toy, make sure it is of better quality than the one provided. For me, the toy is not a deal breaker since that does not take away from the great quality and value of the bag.Definitely worth the price.

Bowls have some sharp areas that clearly received no attention post manufacture, leaving them a safety risk to the bird. Holes are rather large and a budgie or cockatiel head could get stuck. I like the item, but had to make some safety adjustments.

I have a green cheek Conure and I’ve been looking into getting a backpack style carrier for a while and struggled to find exactly what I needed. I really like that this does not have the vinyl plastic for windows as I will be using this outside a lot on my boat. I absolutely love that this includes 2 D rings so that you can hang up a couple toys. There is a nice toy provided but just be sure to take the bell off for the safety of your bird. Another thing I absolutely love about this carrier is that it can be enclosed and the enclosures are magnetic snaps. It’s extremely simple and nice to use! The fact that a natural perch was included instead of those wood rods made my day!The only thing that I don’t really care for is the bottom. It’s the only thing lacking on this product. It’s just a piece of plastic covered fabric with snaps on the corners to shape it. I feel like this could be improved tremendously but overall all it’s still much better than anything else in this price range!!

This is a nice backpack, after it spent a week in my garage. It is your standard bird carrier bag, very nice, with pockets and such. However the instant I opened the bag I reeled at the waft of hideous fake floral perfume that permeated the bag. After a week or so in the garage though the non bird safe scent was gone.
