You need to print a box to put this into and caution must be used as you are handling wall power when in use. But otherwise this is an excellent addition for a 3d printer that doesn't have auto power off as an included function. There are youtube videos you can look up for guidance on assembly and use.

Easy install, good directions and does exactly what it's supposed to do without trouble. Maybe a first for BTT!

This thing is really cool!, BUT if you have a printer like a Ender 3 V2 with the heated glass bed that releases the print when it cools down, this....or any "print resume" feature/device, will not work since unless it resumes right away, the print will be loose and not be printable. I guess one could run a pin to a relay on a battery backup just for the bed, but in that case it may be prudent to just get a regular 120v UPS used for PCs etc. You will prob need a big one though depending on how long outages tend to be in your area. If you get brown outs, it should be fine, but if it goes out for hours, it will prob die. Other than

It works as described, but it won't let me flash a new firmware to it. BTT should use a different MCU for that thing. However, I'm not sure I'll like it.

Had two separate units installed on two control boards. First one arced immediately and damaged the board. A replacement unit attached to a backup board arced after about four days, damaging that board. I had to eat the boards. Will risk power interruptions before using this item again.

Make sure you power supply is at least a 15 amp. I had a tevo tornado that only had 6 amps and this UPS loaded down the supply and would not allow the tevo to turn on. I ended up upgrading the power supply to a mean well 15amp used for the ender 3. No where did I find documentation supporting this info. I found the inrush when this cap bank is first charged when it is turned on is around 12 amps by itself. This in rush drives down voltage to your mother board from 24 volts to around 3-7 volts. This may damage your motherboard. This is not an issues when the power supply is large enough to support the inrush. You will see this issue when the printer is first turned on and the display will dim until the Cap bank is charged up.

Well, it works and keeps the printer running for a short while, after power loss. The way this device works is to charge the 9 5 Farad capacitors. I've seen the principal applied in other electronic devices, but internally. If power loss occurs, the circuit puts the stored energy onto the supply line. Basic UPS function. My concern is the power supply. Perhaps a cheap one may not have any protective circuits and feeds energy back into the power supply. Haven't done any research / tests in this regard. I have a Mean Well supply and it would be a pity, if it gets damaged over time.. Right now, all seems well!Because the Mini UPS, puts constantly energy onto the supply line, it may take a minute to deplete the stored energy after the supply is powered off via power switch. It may help with short power losses, e.g. a glitch on your house entry power panel, but at the most for a minute. I believe the idea is just that, enough time during printing to save the current printing position etc.Additional edit:After a few tests, I came to the conclusion that it will, currently, only work if the TFT / Display is in either in Marlin simulation or is a display that only works in Marlin mode.If you use a TFT35 for example, it does not offer a resume print option after power is restored. I added the two ribbon flat, to find out if it would work in Marlin simulated mode. Viola, there was the option to resume print and it actually did finish the test print. Conclusion:On a Bigtree TFT35 in Touch screen mode, It will only be helpful if there is a very short power glitch / outage shorter than a few seconds. The resume print option does, as of now (5/16/21), not exist! in touch mode.

I bought the skr e3 v2 for my ender 3 pro and it works fine. I was confused as to if since the board is different, does it have also a different interface with the power resume, so I bought this power resume. But testing the new skr e3 v2 board revealed that it did work fine with the original ender 3 pro power resume. the only way I saw to get this information out there, was to write a review. Even though I did not use it, I did not want to give a bad rating just to get this info out there. And after all I am happy with their main board itself. Plus for the price, these are nice big capacitors, that I might use elsewhere.
